I loved the racing but painful from the betting side of things. Managed to end up a few points up which is very disappointing but I can't complain considering the position I was in after day 3. Fantastic Fox badly let me down as I had so many trebles with him being the last leg. I'm going to ignore the run as SDS could have chosen to ride the winner and too much use was made of him to get a good position from his inside draw which meant he then ran far too freely. Pendleton was also very disappointing(another last leg of trebles) so watch out for him next time out.
Highlights for me were Poetic Flare, Subjectivist and Wonderful Tonight. Poetic is miles ahead of any 3 year old miler and I would also have him ahead of Palace Pier who I think needs stepping upto 10f. Subjectivist won easily and I don't think Stradivarius not getting a run made any difference. Wonderful Tonight was only supposed to be 85% fit and did that! There are some really good fillies(Love, Tarnawa, Snowfall) to look forward to and it's difficult for me to split them.

However, just as Norton's Coin is my favourite Gold Cup winner (not that I picked him!) because he came from a small stable so my favourite Royal Ascot moment was Reshoun winning the Ascot Stakes at 66/1. If Reshoun had been trained by Mullins rather than Ian Williams the price would have been a lot shorter.
Let's hope this year's King George VI and Queen Elizabeth is more competitive than last year's, and the Arc is run on decent ground.
