  • ….thought Mas Poder was unlucky in running on debut & had an e/w interest for the Queen Mary. 33-1 with 365 a few days ago, I notice that price has gone, might be one to keep an eye on.

Yeah I saw Mas Poder was flagged up on the Opening show on Saturday morning at 33/1. Took some of that myself and like you say the price went quite soon after

      • Weds looks impossible

        Some huge fields

Unless there is a clear track bias that rules out 1/3 of the field it is a day for minimal stakes

        • An angle I'm looking at is when the decs are made tomorrow look at high drawn (straight course) horses for Thursday.
Weather could be biblical Wed night/all day Thursday and if ground does turn soft the stands side is the place to be and I can't imagine Thursdays prices will have any going change built into them on Tuesday...

          • Rachael Blackmore due to ride Cape Gentleman in the Ascot stakes tomorrow.

If she wins, surely next step is to box Floyd Mayweather

Yeah was a heavy bias last year

Campanelle won from a low draw but almost all the other big field races were won by horses coming up the stand side

B365 are also doing free ?5 for any single at Ascot on Tuesday, just had mine credited, hopefully this is an all customer offer, it should be as I haven't been using my B365 that much recently.

                  • Dhabab the one for money tomorrow. Halved in price since yesterday for Coventry. The US horse has lost a leg by the looks of it.

                      I got that too.

Put it on Dhabab as I don’t have a strong fancy that I’ve backed in the race.

                        Date Meeting Time Horse
Tuesday Royal Ascot 15.40 Winter Power
Tuesday Royal Ascot 16.20 Lucky Vega
Tuesday Royal Ascot 16.20 Thunder Moon
                        Tuesday Royal Ascot 17.00 Rayapour
                        Tuesday Royal Ascot 17.00 Postileo
Tuesday Royal Ascot 17.35 Fox Tal
                        Tuesday Royal Ascot 17.35 Felix
Tuesday Royal Ascot 18.10 Arthurian Fable
Tuesday Royal Ascot 18.10 Gold Maze
Main bet is Arthurian Fable. Ran a good prep and this has been his target. He ran a really good race at Royal Ascot last year behind the likes of Hukum and Subjectivist and there's nothing of that class in tomorrow's race. I've had a small interest at 40s on him for the Ebor with Unibet too.

As much as I love Battaash, I just can't get away from the impression Winter Power made when she wasn't supposed to be fully fit. It could well be the case she beat absolutely nothing but Easterby thinks she's as good as any he's had and he has trained a G1 winning sprinter in Pipalong. She may well need to be much better than Pipalong to beat Battaash but I'm hopeful as Battaash's preparation for this hasn't been the smoothest.

I also really like Postileo and think this quicker ground will really suit him.

                        • Coventry - Kaufymaker

                          - Gisburn

King's - Extravagant Kid - Going for the old boys here. Impressive last run and watched a recent video and like all Brendan Walsh horses, he looked a million dollars.

                          - Maven - If he's out working Kimari, he's got to be worth an e/w shout.

St James - Gave the free 365 bet responsibility to Mrs Mutuel, she's gone for Thunder Moon.

Have fun and good luck everyone.

                            Date Meeting Time Horse
                            Wednesday Royal Ascot 15.05 Kyprios
Wednesday Royal Ascot 15.40 Champers Elysees
Wednesday Royal Ascot 17.00 Bell Rock
                            Wednesday Royal Ascot 17.00 Maydanny
Wednesday Royal Ascot 17.00 Magical Morning
                            Wednesday Royal Ascot 18.10 Dreamloper
I think 16s is a great EW price for Kyprios. His siblings all stayed well and performed best on fast ground so he will have optimum condition which I'm hoping will mean he can deliver in a race that I think is really open. Although well backed, I would ignore his last run as the soft ground would not have suited behind the likes of Third Realm and Adayar.

I'm taking a chance on Champers Elysees and the 14s available with some firms is a steal imo, if she runs anywhere near her best. I'm hoping so as she'll be back on fast ground and Royal Ascot would have been her first main aim of the season.

I love the big handicaps and have gone for 3 for now... The hard fast ground will be ideal for Maydanny so I just have to have him. Bell Rock beat Maydanny in their first race of the season and is drawn the other side so I'm having him too(as always want one on each side). Frankie has gone for Magical Morning(over Haqeeqy) and that will do for me as he has form and is now better weighted with Matthew Flinders who I will end up backing too!

It's a nightmare not knowing how much rainfall there actually will be as I like to get on as early as possible. Soft ground come Saturday could be a disaster for my nap of the week Starman!

Latest forecast I’m seeing is rain Thur, Fri and Sat, so it looks like the ground will be at its’ slowest the more the week develops, but like you say there’s no certainty so plenty of guesswork, focus on Tue and Wed where ground we know will be quick…
