Watched the Newmarket 2 year-old card on RTV this afternoon. Richard Hughes had an eye-popping debutante who won the 10F Maiden by 5L, cantering clear.

All the other 9 runners had ran before, some several times, and the pundits narrative after was that the horse had ran to an OR in the 90’s on debut. The 3rd and 4th had been placed 2nd and 3rd behind a Godolphin 1000 Guineas hope White Mountain on Sun Chariot day on the track 18 days ago. The newcomer today gave them a bigger beating even with an eased down ride.

    BRENTFORD HOPE
    Richard Hughes
    Jamie Spencer.

Trainer said he has been waiting for a good horse, and he thinks he has found one. Jockey said the trainer had been talking about the horse for a while, and thought a lot of him. Also had enough speed to win at any time in the last half mile but stayed really well and will suit 12F next year.

50/1 for the Derby with WH (56/1 with boosted price), no bigger than 33’s elsewhere.

Immediately the WH price went up I had a long range big priced bet.
Would be keen on a big priced St Leger bet too when the market opens on that.

Watch the video, my words don’t do the horse justice. It is another one to savour, like Kinross’s recent debut.

I have requested Bet365 to price up, they also only went to 33/1. So it’s WH if you like the run, breeding etc.

He looked very decent, but it's fairly difficult to assess the form of 2yr olds running at 1m 2f.
      can't knock it though.
St Leger especially looking at the breeding.

50/1 gone already with WH. Still best priced with them but 40/1. 44/1 price boosted.

Across the board cuts today on Oddschecker to KINROSS for the 2000 Guineas, after his declaration for the Horris Hill Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.

He would appear to be the most credible once-raced up-and-comer to Pinatubo in the first classic market and it will be really interesting to see how the market reacts again (after today’s move) on Saturday after the 2.35pm race if he wins this Group 3 well.

I’m going in again today at 20/1, and this price could look big if he wins in the style that today’s betting move is hoping.
