    ….given the suggestion of a Guineas pick, noticed this from Jrow;

    Anyone pick up on nicky henderson last week randomly saying Jessie Harringtons going to win the english 2000 guineas during an interview. Struck me as odd to come out with it, but may have missed the full context. Either way, article in Racing Post today suggesting Green Impact 33/1 will be heading to the english guineas and Hotazhell 16/1 french gns.

    …stable tour re Green Impact;

    ”We set our stall out by deciding not to run him again after he won the Group 2 at the Irish Champions Festival as we wanted to give him plenty of time to mature with a view to maximising him this year. I’m delighted with how well he did over the winter. He’s a big, laid-back horse and we’ve been very happy with his work so far. We have entered him everywhere and won’t make a decision until we need to, but I’d imagine it will be either the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket or possibly the Irish 2,000 Guineas. If he goes to either of those, I don’t think he’ll have a run beforehand. He has an entry in the Derby too and I wouldn’t want to rule out that possibility. He’s by Wootton Bassett out of a Galileo mare with a relaxed racing demeanour, so he could stay that far.”

        Kopek de Mee: noticed that the comment on Raceform after the Cheltenham run was that they had done little speed work with him beforehand. Little surprise that he ran so poorly. This needs to be taken into account I guess. Personally I was very impressed with the Aintree run. Interesting to see if they take The Arkle route.

            I'm not sure about Kopeck De Mee for this. He's been beaten twice off 136, and that doesn't scream grade 1 chaser to me at this stage.

                I think that’s a very loose association though. Not discounting Aaron’s work at looking for some future Cheltenham horse.

                Jango only ran in the Arkle because there was no Turners. The race fell apart as well with 4 of them finishing in a heap. Majborough would have won comfy if not for the mistake 2 out. Jumping is the name of the game though.

                  …..if we’re looking at ones that could get a haircut after Punchestown, then F2F Champion Chase could be a risk worth taking.

                      However the Turners isn't coming back so there will be new routes taken to the Arkle

                        Should have made it a bit clearer, there was no Grade 1 Turners, it’s still there but in handicap form. Caldwell Potter proved you can win it off a reasonably high mark, at 146, Jango was rated 153 going into Cheltenham, would 7lbs have stopped Caldwell Potter, I very much doubt it would have. If the horse is good enough it’ll carry the weight imo.

                        Obviously not the prestige of a Grade 1 being a Grade 2 handicap, prize money being half what the Arkle was is the flip side but as we know most of the big owners are not thinking about the prize money, it’s the horse in the winners enclosure that counts.

                          ….i dare say the views on best trip, ultimate target etc can change but worth mentioning the interview with Charlie Swann who said he was purchased as an ‘Arkle horse’.

                            Yes I remember seeing it, with any other owner that’s where he would maybe go if he’s good enough. His handicap mark leaves him very much open to either trip imo. Suppose it may depend what else WPM has for the race as well. If kopek (with a k) goes chasing and looks the real deal he’d maybe be less bothered where Kopeck (with a ck) went and happy to mark mind him for the Turners.

                            P.s you’ve also got Kawaboomga in the same yard and owner whose form is looking pretty good having been beaten by the supreme winner and then beat the supreme second.

                              …6-1 Wodhooh (Mares Hurdle) has gone after the form was boosted this week but maybe still worthy of inclusion this month.

                                Only trouble is, we have the big shadow of Lossiemouth looming over her and every other Mare again.
