Grangeclare West 100-1 Gold cup is value.
Untried at Cheltenham so far but was arguably unlucky not to win yesterday off 163.
His Irish gold cup second reads well enough and next year they may even ride him like a class horse and not a third string
Same for nick rockett but can’t see him priced for gold cup yet.
Can afford to take that price and sit as it’s unlikely to ever increase aside from the exchange

Willie could have quite a few darts to throw at next year's Gold Cup. Suspect he'll want to aim to try a Michael Dickenson.

After yesterday, there's targets like that. After aiming Absurde at Melbourne as well.

….thought crossed my mind yesterday that Patrick Mullins would retire after winning the big one but he then rides the Bumper winner.

Only thing that sticks in my mind is that they said they would go back again next year. I know the gap between Cheltenham and Aintree was short but. None of the top 10 ran at the festival this year, and I think only 4 of them ran in March at all.

            Grand National 2026 - Saturday 11th April

Cheltenham Festival 2026 - Tuesday 10th March to Friday 13th March

Hopefully they find a way to stick to that 4 week gap after 2026 too.

Just seen your Festival profit sax.incredible stuff again in what was a very difficult year. Just shows how astute you are. You should definitely put your name forward for the weekly punt.

It felt harder this year Lobos

and too many big payday 2nd places that were beaten

Could have been another worldie of a Festival with those going in.

But it was a very healthy profit in the end, after a struggle in the middle part of the meeting.

Good to have a break from focusing so much on the Cotswolds now.

Though it doesnt stop me daily, checking out the markets, and also Im looking at angles from Aintree pre-races, post-races that could lead to antepost bets, and where needed, getting prices added to antepost markets.

….ATRs James Flaherty suggesting Kopeck de Mee’s performance was the eye catcher of the week.

‘Kopeck De Mee blew out at the Cheltenham Festival on his first run for the Mullins stable, but this was much more like it. He was the biggest eyecatcher of the entire meeting, powering home from a long way back in the 2m 4f handicap hurdle on Friday.

They clearly wanted to teach him a few things and he settled much better here, although he still wanted to go faster than Mark Walsh was prepared to let him early on. His jumping was much improved too, but he certainly shapes more like a chaser than a hurdler at his obstacles.

He had plenty to do entering the straight and the winner kicked again from the front. Kopeck De Mee was the only one to get near him and coming from where he did, I thought it was a big effort. He should make a lovely chaser next season, but before that compensation may await at the Punchestown Festival.’

"Had a quick look at the champion chase

Sir gino- hard to know if he will ever deliver on his promise. The injury was so bad they were concerned for his life. Avoid.
Jonbon- clearly just not at his best at Cheltenham. Avoid.
Majborough- jumping fell apart the first time he got in an actual race. Avoid.
Marine Nationale. Reigning champ, would've won maybe 1-2 lengths from quilixios had he stood up. Respect him but don't see him going unbeaten and going off short.
Fact to file- would be a pure guess backing him at this stage.

Then we get to 5yr old kalif du berlais. Horse is improving at a rate of knots and importantly he is a superb jumper.

I think 20/1 is very fair and he could be a big threat if his progression continues.

Happy to add him to the side.

Beating brookie a few lengths isn't strong form but that one was ridden to place not to win and will have been heavily flattered by his proximity.

This looks a very weak division. Open to a young improver."

                          The case

I'd argue this years was a terrible renewal. Had quilixios stood up we'd have had a 159 horse beating a 158 horse by 1-2 lengths most likely.

Worth taking a flyer on a progressive sort at 20/1 who jumps well.

…..be interesting to see Punchestown decs, whenever they start appearing Saxon Warrior?

Worth trying to anticipate those that might get a haircut afterwards.

Ah must've shortened up in the last few days. Hmm not sure I'd take 16s tbh.
