Crowdfunder - Fat Jockey Forum upgrade

Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

    Kev,

Great work on reaching the initial target - great bunch of cats on here to fire that through so quickly.

Can you set a "Stretch Target" - there might be an opportunity to increase the funding target based on meeting the initial target so quickly and might help with people going on and thinking the target has been reached and not donating.

For example you could say the £1000 was to upgrade the site, but a further £1500 is the cost required to maintain it for the next 12 months so the stretch target is £2500 - always good to be short of your fundraising target!!

I also noticed a lot of people didn't click the Gift Aid box - this costs nothing to the donator but adds an extra 25% to your donation so well worth doing.

A couple of other forums I frequent use Xenforo and it is very good. Seems easy to customise and very good media integration.

Just bunged a few quid into the pot Kevloaf, if you're meeting up for the Ultima again I'll drop by, I'll put a small punt on for the forum, if it goes in can add that as well, thanks for all the hard work keeping the Fat Jockeys afloat.

Yes I've just been on and I can just change the amount we're looking to raise which I've done

and to answer whoever asked about doing monthly instead Durham Edition

That's the link, it's also in the 'announcements' bit on each page but you have to click across now to 'page 2' for it

A small monthly donation is also really helpful

We do have monthly out-goings that are increasing faster than Freddo's

Just had another email, from a Kevin. So you're the polite young crowdfunder person I can't tell you how disappointed I am to find out your surname is not Loaf.

I agree I saw it was well over £1000 and assumed you would use additional sum for running costs. So went ahead with a donation. Congrats to all concerned. Wonderful response.

                            Yes absolutely

Just for anyone that hasn't seen the full cost of upgrading is 1500 so we're almost there now ... and anything over will go towards the increased running costs.

Getting this amount before the festival starts is amazing and I know some will wait until the week too

On the forum upgrade.... it sounds like it could be done over night ..... how do people feel about that happening this week?!

I could set up a poll..... .... if we hit the total

…..traffic will get very busy after the weekend, my suggestion would be an overnight fix asap, as long as the timings are communicated.

                                Speed has been fixed already

It is now just whether we switch from vbulletin before or after Cheltenham .... if we get to £1500, and I have seen a lurker who hasn't even been able to get on has just donated (so thank you, and check your emails!) ....

                                So fingers crossed....
