Crowdfunder - Fat Jockey Forum upgrade

Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Keep up the great work all concerned. Can I go back to using postal orders in future all this modern witchcraft is offending my amish sensibilities.

        I'll take a cheque?

To be fair thanks to the few who suggested Crownfunding ... that is a lot easier than I thought it was going to be and clearly worked wonders

Yes, it's worked a treat, but I wasn't happy until I'd checked my bank. I had no idea if I'd actually sent anything or not. It'll be a lot easier next time. Oh ,I've just had an email saying all's well. They're very polite these young crowdfunder people.

            Thank you to fatherjohn

Honestly, I am blown away, we're almost 2/3 of the way to the target and I wasn't even sure we'd make it in a month, it's been 3 hours!

To anyone who already gives monthly via patron/patreon - a huge thank you as well - if you are paying a contribution monthly don't also pay a one-off fee, if you have let me know please

Have chipped in what I could afford. Thanks Kev & the team, plus all the contributors to this forum who help a novice guide his way through Cheltenham. Best of luck next week everyone!

Just contributed to Crowdfunder. Took it over the £1K target. Happy days.

Staggering response, it really is, but I'll leave the Chief to comment when he rises from his Stella slumber....

I had this conversation with Kevloaf last night, the crowd funding thing is just to undertake necessary upgrades, there is still (and always will be) ongoing running costs so anyone that hasn't yet contributed who wants and is able to, I'd encourage to do it, it will be put to good use and Kev assures me he won't drink it....

So presumably if anyone goes to the Crowdfunding site and sees that the target has been reached can still donate, and this will help towards ongoing running and maintenance costs? The site and FJ community are superb. Long may it continue.

                                OH MY
                                Absolutely overwhelmed by this
Thank you all so much ... so many people to go back and thank but just a little update

I am waiting for the exact costings for the CPU upgrade, and how long it will take, and the impact (if we go 'offline') - so will come back to you with that shortly

I am also being very strongly advised to switch from Vbulletin to Xenforo ... and I have to say it is very tempting.... it costs about £10 more a month but just will open up so much more and the dev we have is an expert in it, he couldn't recommend it strongly enough.

                                Any questions? Fire away....
