We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.
I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

I'd imagine a fair few have started, I know I have.
I plan on sticking them in my diary rather than the open forum, once I've got what I want on (this could be a while as I'm restricted with Sky and have no PP account )
I haven't yet, but will be doing so in the next week for sure.
We know a couple other bookies will be opening markets in the next fortnight v likely too with potentially better prices being offered
For those that do start placing bets for 2026 before this festival has begun.
What bets are still standing from this approach last year ?
I can recall some getting the 33-1 Ballyburn for BANC (although many would have split stakes with Turners if they felt the race was going to remain)
But I can't think of many others.
And if you have the Ballyburn bet at 33's, how many others went in the bin ?
Genuinely interested, as some of the prices that have been quoted look wank.
I only placed three bets pre-festival last year, for this year:
Stay Away Fay - Gold Cup @ 33/1
Caldwell Potter - BANC @ 33/1
Lossiemouth - CH @ 12/1... which looks decent BUT we're still not 100% sure that she lines up

I did the top 2 and slade steel and ballyburn in both races (arkle and banc). About 6 points, and might have done Kargese mares also.
Yeah - and if you wanted to back Lossie today, you'd get 4-1. 3pts at 4-1 and you're back to square one. But with NRNB.
So looks like you was pissing in the wind as much as I was.

The ballyburn 33's I have is a WTAF with last years turners, but obviously that got voided due to the race being removed
Back fewer horses, just use those 'saved' stakes for larger stakes NRNB
(Sounds simple )
No fun in that though
Bets placed a year in advance are fun bets
one bet im eyeing up is final demand for the BANC but im hoping he loses the turners so i can back him after that but before he hopefully wins the 3 mile novice hurdle at punchestown
I'd say it's only worth backing a horse before this years festival if you think there's a good chance they will be very short priced fav at next years
The removal of the 2m4f grade 1 novice scuppered what would now look some tasty doubles for me this year. I had impaire and ballyburn turners in 3 doubles each with con hill, teahupoo and galopin which are all now tiny staked pointless singles.
I still think changing that race to a handicap was a mistake. The changes to the NHC and Cross Country were necessary but knocked out two of the easiest antepost races.
My enthusiasm for antepost has dimmed slightly with the removal of those 3 races as level weights contests. 3 more handicaps is just 3 more bookies benefits.

Didn't do many last season, Facile Vega my only loser.
Got Jade De Grugy at 12's, although she went out to 33's after defeat though, so proper shrewd, that I backed the 33's then cashed because she hadn't gone back to Willie's by a certain point and took it as a negative, again another incredibly shrewd move
Ballyburn 5/1 (Gallghers/Any Race) was the only other I backed pre festival.
Previous season everything backed early was chalked up as a loser, cracking effort!
Maybe it’s the win at Cheltenham 2025 and 2026 double, when it’s offered as a separate price, rather than the stand alone 2026 markets where the value may lie?…….if you get the first winner then surely the price for the 2026 event will be significantly shorter ?
Maybe Supreme winner 2025 with the Arkle for 2026 or Champ Hurdke 2026 ?…..and BANC 2025 winner with the Gold Cup 2026 as two that could be of interest?
Also worth a Triumph 2025 winner and Arkle 2026 based upon Sir GIno and Majborough this year?
