Fat Jockey Yankee's 2025 - Captain's Required


Hello Fat Jockeys,

As plenty of you know, we have a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Overall Fat Jockey Yankee each year for the festival, that we have captains for, that pick the final selections for THE WHOLE FORUM to back for the 5 yankee's in pretty colours above.

• That means we need 5 captains!

Traditionally, it is an honour bestowed to "new" members, that have signed up in the last 12 months. I see no reason to abandon that this year .... if we have enough volunteers of course.




....so who wants to put their hat in the ring to potentially become a FJ legend and create history as a winning captain...... (rarer than you'd think/hope!)


The deadline for the all the yankee's to be decided is usually the Sunday before (Sunday 9th March 2024 this year). This is to allow people to see them, back them and still be able to live their life, as it is just a bit of fun



Volunteers by end of tomorrow I guess? I've left it very late this year

Will announce the captains and we can crack on

Could I make a suggestion?
Keep the 4 daily yankees as they have been, 1 new member for each day. Couple of nominations, Wayward Lad , Yosser. Killiney

But with the overall Yankee, could we try something different. 4 senior fat jockeys picking 1 each.
A few nominations here would be Saxon Warrior, Quevega ComplyOrDie Kevloaf (only because you're the owner, not your knowledge )
Something along the lines of this?

That overall proposal, yes, that's a wonderful idea, if they're all ok with it.

Personally, I'd love to see darlojim and Lobos run a yankee together - think there could be some hilarious fireworks in there


On a more serious note, who are the newbies apart from Yosser this year Kevloaf ? It feels like we haven't had that many so some of the more established faces may be needed through lack of possible nominations as much as anything else?

Some of us Eggs don’t fully understand the rules with the normal monthly Yankee, so don’t contribute with any recommendations - maybe worth highlighting again for next year as I’d benefit for sure and would happily contribute more
