I really want to thank you guys for all the interest you show in this. The number of messages I've had on here and on social media asking if it's going ahead is incredible. If you don't follow already you'll find me on Twitter @paulbeck3001 and if you subscribe you'll get an update if it's short notice.
I know there will be some new members on here that won't have a clue what this is, but if you search on 'Naiad' in the search box above it'll bring you the threads from the previous years and any of those threads will give you a full explanation. In short we try to have the bookies pants down by having a massive plunge on one horse in the handicaps that the bookies can't see coming. It's good fun and it's become a bit of a tradition. We do it on a live podcast so everyone can push the button at the same time and get the price before it crashes into favourite. And for anyone who is at the Festival on the given day it's become a tradition for us that gather to watch on the big screen by the Parade Ring.
This year I plan to do it on Thursday 20th, but if there's any sign of the price going on the selected horse then I will bring it forward, perhaps even as soon as this week, so please keep an eye out on this thread because I may only be able to give 24 hours notice or less.
Also I'm doing a Spectre Preview this year. It's happening at Longlevens Football Club in Gloucester on Sunday 9th March. It's completely free to attend, and it's a really good panel for the purist. I'm hosting, Ginger Joe, podcaster and Oddschecker Tipster, Liam Firkin the current Racing TV Tipstar Champion and Oddschecker Tipster, Jono jono who is a member on here is doing his trends and statistics selections, and Richard Smith nortonscoin200 who as you know is a whizz with the big prices in the handicaps makes up the panel. We also have Ben Hastie former Head Groundsman and Cheltenham Racecourse joining us. Ben know the two courses inside out and is the best qualified person I know to tell us which ones to avoid or lay. He also knows the corss country horses inside out and gets the word about what schools well and what doesn't. Which ones have been over an how many times, etc. He pulls the winner and placed horses out every year.
Plus Dan Skelton will be doing a video introduction for us, giving us the heads up on all his runners at the Festival, including all of his handicap chances.
What this won't be is the typical trainer and jockey bollocks that we already know. It's for the purist like us who are completely into it.
Last year I did Towcester Racecourse, and we absolutely smashed the handicaps between us, and I expect the same again this time. No pressure Jono and Rich!!!
If you live locally, or you're in the Midlands or South West the location is doable, and the timing is so people can get back to their families at a reasonable time on a Sunday. Also of anyone wants to watch the Footy (Man Utd v Arsenal), plenty of us will be staying on to watch it on the big screen.
Details are below, but please send me a DM as soon as possible if you can make it because the numbers are limited. No problem of you want to bring people with you, but I need to know for the numbers.
