Ah a sponsor, fair enough. Just wondered if JR was a Fred Winter or Fulke Walwyn type of person who had the race named after them

Waterford whispers would be the one that immediately jumps out to me

I'd like to see his mark before parting with money though

Can anyone else see the logic that Masaccio comes here over the Ultima? The Timeform Nov Handicap on Trials day did have a great record for this race (Changed parameters I know) but that day he was giving 7lb to Jagwar and a stone to Billytherealbigred. Jumped well from the front and stayed on. These 2M4F chases are so niche that the market will get distracted by classier Irish horses and let a few go under the radar.

Can't see any Alan King stable tours to get an opinion.

Unlikely as the owners of Masaccio sponsor the Ultima, so I would guess they'd want to win their own race.

Right on cue, Alan King comes out and tells us he is going "Somewhere else"

Is this is somewhere else or is he not bothering with Cheltenham.

His comments may have been referring to El Perfecto and not Masaccio so hold those thoughts.

Waterford Whispers a non-runner today at Punchestown- so won’t be eligible for Cheltenham handicaos

What an absolute gaggle of bone heads

                    I thought I was well-clever backing him

Ah well, money back feels like a win this deep into the season

Increases the chances of Jagwar winning the race so I'm happy!

Just wondering if Asian Master qualifies for this? I know he's only had 2 chase runs this season but I've noticed he ran in a hunters chase at Tipp in May 2023, does this count towards his 3 runs?

RP are showing it as 3 chase starts under rules, so yeah, I can't see why this wouldn't count. Maybe someone on here will know for sure, but I would say it counts.

                            Forgot this race existed !
I'm surprised no-one has picked up on Gavin's video stable tour (not sure who it was for) when asked which one he liked the most he pointed to the horse he was holding, Thecompanysergeant.
Was 16s at the time and still 14s now, has other entries but he did name check this race for him so you have to assume this is Plan A....

Worth noting that Nurburgring is entered in the Flyingbolt at Navan on Saturday.
