  • If Con's Roc qualifies this weekend and the markets don't notice much, then he'd be a decent selection IMO.

Codd Mentioned the horse in his column but tipped the other one up, excusing it's defeat on 29th December to Cons Roc because of taking a blow after the race.
Not sure why that makes a difference.

Con's Roc had not raced for 6 months.
Willitgoahead had raced three times since October.

As I've said before, dineen talked Willitgoahead up on his TV show, and said it was the greatest jumper he'd ever seen (till next week)
In the commentary of the race between them, the commentator said Con's Roc outjumped him.

Anyhow they are both good hunter chasers but one's price has already halved.
If Con's Rock stays around the mid double figures then he's a good option for you Ice

As mentioned in the members section, the trainer plans on coming.

    • FYI. Con's Roc entered in 1:30 PTP at Cragmore tomorrow.

      • …Kev just posted a clip of Galvin popping the XC fences this morning. He’s a bit of a favourite of mine and I dare say a few others, entries and weights await but maybe one for consideration here; 10-1 AP, 6-1 NRNB.

        • I'd like to put up Kopek des Bordes for the Turner's novice.
WIth Kawaoonga winning today and KdB beating him whilst still smashing into every hurdle that form looks good.
Also since Potters charm disappointed today I feel the 10/1 available offers decent value.
I really like the new lion but I have heard rumours that he was always aimed to peak early in order to get the best price to sell.
With his massive engine I can't see much else that keeps him out the top 3

He's definitely one I'm thinking's about and that was before kawaboomga won today, 10's the best price and 8's nrmb isn't bad value.

Are you not a bit worried about the yellow clay going Albert Bartlett, guiness ?

                    • There's still a bit of juice in the price of at least three of these.

And it would be a bit of a surprise if they didn't all target the races listed below.

What's more, three of them have all-important Festival form and the other is trained by a Festival handicap maestro.

UNEXPECTED PARTY (Grand Annual) 20-1 (won the race last year)
GWENNIE MAY BOY (Pertemps) 25-1 (On a perfect mark for the race and has same hold-up racing style as Good Time Jonny and Monmiral)
GIT MAKER (Kim Muir) 33-1 (A gallant second last year)
ANGELS DAWN (Fox) 11-2 (Won 2023 Kim Muir, still going well when tipped up 2 out last year)

All the prices are with 365.

I haven't worked out the potential return but a 0.1pt each way roll-up pays 12,151pts. The each-way element would return a shade more than 84pts.

….i like it and have them all in my book but might be seen as a bit ‘risky’. I suppose NRNB is an option but risk/reward.

As an aside and I’m not one for volunteering posters but do you fancy ‘captaining’ the February Yankee, all options should be open with entries etc and maybe a number of stable tours as well?

Don't disagree with any of those NC but Skelton also has a pair of 14/16s shots in the shape of Be Aware (Coral) and Valgrand (County) that also represent some value, no need for the NRNB insurance as targets are pretty much firm...
