Thanks Eggs. Got him in a x4 Acca. Cashed Out and went back in with same bet. Your update gave me a 50% better win value. Have a drink on me mate. Cheers.

i’ll give a shout to Only by Night (Mares Chase) after trainers comments left the door open for her participation. 8-1 NRNB seems decent, only 10-1 AP. Only downside is Ice might want definite targets.

I'll put up Familiar Dreams in the Mare's Novice Hdl. She has some nice bumper form, finishing 2nd to The Yellow Clay and beating sixandahalf. She's done well since she switched to hurdles. In her first run over hurdles she conceded weight and beat Winter Fog (now rated 150) and Happy Jacky (now rated 143) so she looks to be reasonable value at 25/1. My only concern is that she is entered on Tuesday so if she runs well in this race and beats Maughreen in the process, her price might disappear before the end of January when the selection process takes place. Food for thought though Ice.

I'm going to suggest we use slade steel for this months Yankee for the jack Richards novice handicap chase.
No entries for last year's supreme winner in either the arkle or banc indicates that this is his target.
I've gone through both his chase runs a few times and for all he hasn't won a race he hasn't run badly and he's actually jumped well. So for Henry to even suggest they may go back over hurdles was Bullshit imo.
So atm he's only currently got 2 chase runs so he requires a 3rd.
Im not as clued up on the Irish racing calendar and don't know where to find which beginners chases remain between now and Cheltenham.
But looking back at last year's results I found a few races that if they are still part of the calendar, they look possibilities.
I'd make the most likeliest one a 2m4f beginners chase at gowran park, which i believe is the 15th feb this season, won by saint felicien last season, of course same ownership as slade steel.
There's other options, One at clonmel on the 13th Feb over 2m4f and another on the 6th over 2miles at thurles, won by zanahiyr last year.
There is another over 2m7f at punchestown, but it's closest to the festival and it's over further, although it's a race Henry won last year with senior chief.
He's currently 10/1 nrnb, 14/1 antepost.
If he turns up in this race which I think is highly likely, being last years supreme winner, HDB & Rachael, he'll be going off shorter, surely?
Ane i think he'll have a great chance of winning.

He's been beaten by 2 horses that have gone on to run well in graded races. Lecky watson winning and bda a solid 2nd in grade 1. Although that was an elliott benefit, so it's difficult to assess, but id be disappointed if he had higher than 150 and i think anything below that and he goes off favourite.

Heartwood IRE 159
I think you'll be fortunate to get below 150 UK.
Probably more like 151-155
Depends a little how his next race goes, and collateral.
I think he'd definitely be up there though, but my golden rule is no novice chasers rated over 150, so I'd leave him for now and wait on his rating. If he gets 152 or below I'll be tempted because I still thought he had a live chance in the BANC, especially at the prices that were available before entries.
But I think Henry may be thinking long term and going further next season for the big one if he has a good Spring with the horse. That probably explains why no entry.

A lot of things for the handicapper to consider.
I think this race would have been his plan from early this season.
I think he would have decided early on he wasn't going to be good enough for the arkle, he maybe didn't have to look further than his own stable for that.
I think you're right about the long term with him, and he decided against going 3miles this season, especially once it was announced the turners would become a handicap again.
It's lazy of me to point towards the similarities to a plus tard but it's just so hard not to.
Maybe he will step him up next season, but he's still only 7, he could still go Ryanair at 8 and Gold Cup at 9.
I think being able to back the supreme winner from the previous season, at 14/1, for what i believe has been his target race the following season is an absolute gift.
