Workahead looks good value at 25's for the supreme. His win was comfortable with some good jumping and thought he accelerated nicely at the end after making all. I'm fairly new but couldn't see the price difference between him and Mundi, who I do think has a better chance of winning if he races cleaner

This won't help anyone but I always felt Jan is the toughest month for the yankees, plenty of suggestions will get put up that are either dead after DRF or a fraction of their price when they were put up.
February on the other hand is when the handicaps start taking shape...

Obviously could go either way but I'd have thought an end of Jan Yankee wants to heavily feature horses running at DRF that could be much shorter after... As a last chance to get them at a price kind of thing.
Or it could be in the bin before March as you say

Firstly a post-DRF based entirely on Saxon Warrior Race Planner. Saxon is hopefully recovering from illness so maybe a volunteer could analyse his findings and work with him to come up with 4 selections. Secondly, the normal end of Feb wager ahead of the Festival with plenty of entries known and more NRNB options.
As always, it’s up to FJs to decide but in the first instance, Ice has this months challenge.

Or maybe we did two, one post Trials Day and another post DRF.
Or has the Madri pickled my brain ?
….certainly only 2 but I’m not sure if the timing of the January Yankee was post DRF;
January:
Storm Heart at 7/1 (Triumph)
Fact To File at 4/1 (Browns)
I Will Be Baie at 25/1 (Albert Bartlett)
Ballyburn at 4/1 (Ballymore)
Odds - 5199/1
Bookmaker - Coral
February:
Brighterdaysahead - Mares Novice 13/8
Sir Gino - Triumph Hurdle 4/6
Galopin Des Champs - Gold Cup Evens
Ginnys Destiny - Turners 11/4
Odds - 32/1
Bookmaker - BetMGM & William Hill

I'd argue previous races may have very limited relevance for Willie this year though given the weather and ground as it has been so don't know how successful it will/won't be - for all there's at least two horses who could go straight in one from Willie based on the entries and probable decs

I'm all good mentally Eggs
Just physically not getting out and about much.
So updating things is a simple thing for me to do, and share, on RPRs being hit that show
●the best horse performances YTD in each category
in the 10-Year-Trend RPR Diarys and also
●how their top rating compares to what horses in the last 10 years produced before they won their Festival races.
Last Tuesday we got full sets of early entries for the
●Gold Cup
●Ryanair
●QMCC
These were invaluable as I could home in on only using those that were entered in those race lists.
Also the following 9 races have their Early Entries in the next 8 days now, and I can apply only those entries to the lists
on Tues 14th Jan
●Champion Hurdle
●Stayers Hurdle
●Mares Hurdle
on Tues 21st Jan
●Supreme
●Turners NovH
●Albert Bartlett
●Triumph
●Arkle
●BANC
So we have 12 of the Grade 1 fields all sorted soon, on entries.
The Cross-Country, NHC, and Turners NovCH becoming Handicaps this year, and so their past ratings work would largely be invalid now.....
That probably only leaves the two Grade 2's and their later Early Entry Date of
Tues 11th Feb
●Mares Chase
●Mares NovH
Plus the late Grade 1 announcement of Entries
Tues 25th Feb
●Champion Bumper
Looking at some of the Novice Hurdles ratings, and the Triumph ones so far, there's not many been hitting close to peak pre-Festival numbers required to suggest they'll win Festival races and probably it will take the DRF and Cheltenham Trials Day period to sort a few into the final pecking order for those races.
Anyway, if you want me involved to update RPRs as they happen then I'm here and "on it" for you, and with you, as usual..

Can't be having Workahead - for all he looked impressive - it was a Maiden hurdle in December - to go straight from that to winning a supreme in March would be some training performance. I know Marine Nationale went straight from the Royal Bond in December to win the Supreme but that was a Grade 1 win.

Hi, my first contributing to one of these yankee threads. What about Angels Dawn 8s for the Hunters Chase? Won the Kim Muir two years ago and was going well when he fell late on in the same race last year. Has already won his first two hunter chases. Seen worse 8/1 shots

For the reasons you suggest, ADs been the only one on my mind for the race since they got qualified.
Quite often I don't have a bet in the race, but happy to on this one."Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

Yeah I backed Angels Dawn when NRNB came out. Not sure a Hunter chaser is an optimal pick though as most of us would have no idea what the form is worth this year.
Just wait until the day on it now and see who Jane Mangan says will run well.
I'd suggest Sixandahalf should be a shoo in as she should be favourite for the Mares Novice at the moment. I'd suggest Kopek for the Turners as he's overpriced there, then pick one more that's ran well this month and another potential shortener from the DRF.
Is February usually concentrated on handicaps or is that left for the daily Yankees?
