Stayers Hurdle - The Wallpark (TW) I would suggest that this horse might be worth considering at a decent price ie 33/1 with Bet 365. He is currently 10/1 fav for the Pertemps but now has a rating of 152 so may not go down that route and as he is seemingly being prepared for The Long Walk Hurdle (a traditional trial for the Stayers) one could surmise that he is coming here. Gordon has a good record in this race having won it in last 2 years. Sire du Berlais won it year after winning the Pertemps at age of 11 off 152. That was 2nd lowest rating in last 10 years and TW has Teauphoo to beat who won it last year off 162. TW is a 6 year old and arguably is still very much improving. He has course experience winning the Pertemps Qualifier easily off 145 back in October. This forum has consistently bemoaned the quality of the anticipated field (Teauphoo apart) and TW is at least a sporting bet to bridge the gap of 10 in the ratings.

If you want an alternative to Teahupoo in the Stayers then Strong Leader has to be the one at his current price. He'll go off much shorter come March and imo is the only danger, if there is one, to this year's winner.

Yes, we have both Teahupoo and Langer Dan in previous months. Hard to see Strong Leader not being a force come March.

There has to be a significant doubt as to whether Syrong Leader turns up given connection doubts about his ability to race at Cheltenham and his preference for flat tracks. Much more likely in my opinion to go same successful route of last year and end up at Aintree.

Connections haven't ruled it out yet. This staying division isn't that strong either. He wins the Long Walk and there'll find it hard to avoid Cheltenham.

They've actually ruled it in more recently. He'll need to run well in the Cleeve Hurdle and then it'll be all systems go for March.

Sorry, Cleeve Hurdle, not The Long Walk. Thanks Lobos.

Protektorat now 25-1 for Ryanair pretty much across the board.

Other possibilities starting to fall away, and big doubt about El Fabiolo, one, on account of the rumours he'll be late out and his last couple of runs/jumping efforts
Fastorslow also out and Fact to File looking strong possibility for Gold cup.
Elliot horse Found a fifty will also have seen the race today in Cork and took encouragement to stick to 2 miles for now also.

                  25-1 is value beyond doubt.

Today's run was actually impressive as he was very strong at the finish and after the line, off a slow pace when he was held up and not liking it. And a runaway front runner/winner who jumps like dynamite.

Agree that's incredible value especially if doing an EW Yankee?

Looks like Dan is bringing him to his prime slowly and he'll appreciate a stiffer 2 1/2m . Course form obviously a plus as well.

All my Yankees are win only, but yes, 25-1 for the most recent winner and a horse still in his prime. Today wasn't the day for the horse. I think we all know what is. A worthy selection.

                      Definitely on this month's shortlist.

….i suggested Birdie or Bust 25-1 MC last month and I note she’s quite popular in ‘One Race, one Horse’ competition so I’m sure others would be happy if she ‘s included. She ran a cracker in the MNH finishing less than 2L behind Brighterdaysahead.

i’ll nominate her for this month’s Yankee.

                          Yep, absolute no brainer imo

Yep, agree. Think she's going under the radar somewhat, maybe because connections have Dinoblue and Limerick Lace at the head of the market.

Think she improves for a step up in trip too.

I've just backed her for the race.

Hate that phrase. Right up there with 'free' bets.

In my mind it translates to 'for those with no brains' but appreciate that it's not the way that you meant it.

Actually I don’t like it much either to be honest
