….hopefully Middle_Of_March reads the thread and considers a few suggestions that we get this bet up before Christmas. Seems sensible to me.

I see none of the yankees have Brighterdaysahead in for the Mares Hurdle.

Not a huge price but she looks a shoo-in for the race, and could get one on the board for the bet.

We need a plan in place to get this bet on early as I said earlier in the thread. It’s pointless having a discussion and placing the bet on the 1st Jan as everything will change over Xmas especially the odds.

I'd personally avoid IEP for any yankee, need a lot of things to drop differently for him to end up in an arkle based on what we have seen.
I have backed for the Banc, but cashout at the ready as he's a fluffy one really having missed the festival last year. And I do think they've boxed him off as a mid trip horse.
So bets on him are full of hope really.
But he's good enough on form so can understand why many are still married to him.

I'd also avoid Salvator as whilst we've seen him last year, I'm not a fan of horses that kind of fall into favouritism and shorten for no other reason than others not fulfilling their potential.
It's a dangerous game, especially in the novice divisions. Bookies are taking the piss.
I would acknowledge though that there is a chance he comes out and looks really good and could go off short in a race we have yet to see anything of note.

If you're already on at 20-1+ then ok but his price now don't make much sense. We've been here many times before.
It's not even been backed up with overly strong Mullins comments either.
I do hope he's as good as he could be, but again it's a hopeful one really IMO.

If you're considering a bet now on him, I'd ask yourself how many maiden hurdle runners Mullins has put out so far, and how many will we see over the next 6 weeks ?

Yes, but we have 2-3 weeks, but good point, happy to agree a yes or no based on an entry.

He’s one that imo is likely to be backed once an entry is seen.
The current odds could well shorten on that entry.
So yes it’s a gamble backing him before an entry, but I can see why some would take that gamble.

He was available for a long time at 20's . That was the time to back him Carnage. Not sure I'd go in again now.

Not sure I would either, although I do have him in a double with Lossiemouth CH. And a double with SGino CH
But for this Yankee I would not be bothered if he was picked.
I can’t imagine the Supreme will be 10/1 the field come the day, so something is going to be a fair bit shorter .
                      Maybe it will be him.

if Nicky gets her out again this month, as a shortie in another Mares Novice Hurdle.

as, hopefully they run at Christmas and are ridden by Paul, and Short Favs for Leopardstown races.
On this one, did Nicky not specifically say 2 and half miles would be her trip this season?

Henderson added: "You'd think the trip is about right, two and a half [miles] is probably the area we'll be playing in. There's a long way to go, but I think there's some nice days ahead of us."

                          Diva Luna
"She is obviously unbeaten in two bumpers - the listed race at Market Rasen and the Mares’ Aintree bumper. She was pretty unextended to win both and I think she is a very, very smart individual who will, hopefully, go some way to being a top mares’ novices’ hurdler this season. The aim would be to be at the Festival, and whether it would be in the Supreme, Ballymore or the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle we will find out. She is unbelievable in her schooling sessions, and she will run at the end of this month in a mares’ novice and then we will look to run in the Listed Mares’ Novice at Newbury and then may go to the Jane Seymour before the Festival."

She is entered up for this Monday at Lingfield. Currently a general 16/1 for the MNH. Her Aintree Bumper has worked out very well with virtually every runner either winning or placed since. She sounds like another very special Lady !!!

She picked up a minor injury which kept her off for two weeks which meant she didn't make her Newbury engagement. Clearly ok now.

                            Yes, I saw that,

                            I ignored him.

JP will tell him where he wants the horse to run.

He bred the horse too, so they will know the ins and outs of her breeding and what trips will suit - more than Nicky.

She looks pacey enough for 2M, and travelled well enough over 2M3F.

                            I'd say she's adaptable.

Her dam won 5 midtrip (1M3F to 1M5F) NHF races in France, on the bounce then won on Hurdle debut before JP bought her in late 2015 and switched her to Hendo.

Won a MNH then ran in the big MNH at Cheltenham, and came 3rd to Limini.

So she didnt go over 2M4F herself, she was plenty good enough between 1M3F and 2M2F

Thats Nice's sire is Walk In The Park

                            His best IRE/GB hurdlers include

Douvan, Min, Jonbon, Facile Vega, Firefox

All of whom ran and placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Supreme as Novice Hurdlers.

So I'm happy enough at this point that if she keeps improving that JP may be happy enough to pick the MNH at Cheltenham..... and then if they wish, consider the 2M4F Grade 1 MNH at Fairyhouse (which is a little over 2 weeks later).

JP could run his own Mares Novice Hurdle with the mares he's got potentially coming out this year. Makes the race a difficult one for me as the Mares Chase this year highlighted an issue with it - Dinoblue well fancied for it all year, morning of the race drifts out with Limerick Lace well backed and wins after a poor ride on Dinoblue. When there could be a number in the race for JP, you don't always know which one is the actual fancied one until the price has gone on the day.
