I thought Willie was the one who broke the news at a Gala dinner evening about a bumper horse yet to be named (by Walk in the park and Quevega) that “took his eyes out”

Patrick May then have made the horses name Public though

First I ever heard of him was when willie apparently nominated him at some awards thing or something. I'm pretty sure that was his first mention as I remember everyone on here talking about him off the back of that. Whether patrick was first though I can't be certain.

      • I see Theflyingking has entry at Navan this weekend. He’s one I could see come on plenty for his first run in what looked an above average bumper at Down Royal on Stephens Day. He’ll definitely appreciate a lot more cut than he had up north.

I think he’d have won by a length or so if he hadn’t hung left in the last 100 yards. Wouldn’t be surprised to see the winner that day Kilwaughter be snapped up by the double green being with the Crawfords.

33/1 NRNB WH isn’t bad value for connections that may want to go one better than Romeo did last year in the race. Hopefully he’s declared tomorrow & we get a chance to see him again anyway.

        • Patrick Mullins is a pathological liar, I wouldn't trust a word that comes out of his mouth haha

As Future Prospect is owned by Mrs John Magnier, rather than Townend, could they consider one of their retained flat riders, for either the DRF or in turn the festival ?

Imagine the antepost market collapse if they confirmed Ryan Moore will ride her.

Didn't Osin (sic) Murphy ride in last years bumper? or was supposed to do?

Possibly. Think they need a NH license though and I can't remember the last time a flat jockey rode in it (granted Oisin might ride in it this year).

Licences are issued by code, so yes any flat pilot wanting to ride will need a NH licence, pretty much a formality as they're not hard to get.
Most flat pilots are in Dubai at that time of year though....

I really like Kilwaughter and Theflyingking for this. I’d say there’s no risk in the NRNB.

I thought Kilwaughter would be purchased privately by the double green too, but he’s off to the sales on 25th Jan.

Going back to their race Kilwaughter had much the easier passage hugging the the rail all the way & getting the gap up the inside when he needed it, Theflyingking covered way more ground running 4 or 5 wide most of the way, that coupled with his hanging antics has me marking the run up more than the winners. I’d say they could both develop into good types going forward though.

RPR ratings of 118 & 119 are pretty decent first time out for this years bunch too.

Jesus. Didn't see that coming. Has that ever happened before? A repeat runner.
