State Man was 2/7 !! - and won every grade one hurdle in Ireland over 2 miles that season.

Lossiemouth was a five year old and 8/13 for the mares, and should have been shorter.

Why run both in the same race ?

And fucking Quevega would have smashed your arse off
So she went for the easier race, exactly like BDA will do.

Why is it any different? I'd say it's a much better decision to go the Mares with BDA as the Champion Hurdle looks much stronger this year.

Willie bottled it last year, Gordon will probably do the same this year.

There is a fairly strong likelihood we get an odds on favourite win the Champion hurdle this year which would be the 6th time in the last 10 years since Faugheen in 2015, by my reckoning.
    This also includes 11/10F 2-1F & a 5/2F winners on top.

The last odds on shot we had before this recent spell whilst the mares hurdle has been established was Istabraq in 2000.

In 17 renewals of the mares hurdle, even whilst it was a grade 2, on 10 occasions the winner has been 9/4 or shorter with 6 odds on shots, and arguably that's down to luck that some bigger priced horses won because at least 2 odds on shots fell at the last. And at least 2 other odds on shots were beat on the day.
So in 10 renewals we've had an odds on shot at SP.

Not good for the Sport at all.
Get your fucking act together BHA.

Don't get me wrong they are ballbags and can't trust them, but I see no difference to what they are doing to what Mullins done for years! Plenty of times imo he "Could" have entered his mares into the Champion Hurdle but decided against it as wanted to win the mares! Now maybe there is more too it, Mullins knew he wouldn't win, wasn't good enough that 'Season' but I don't but that, especially not all the times he had a good one, why not take a chance?

I like BDA and would love her in the Champion Hurdle, but I'm glad and Like FM is calling this out!

My money is on at 2.7

The Kevin Blake article archie posted got me

I think Quevega is going to be right

Even if she wins at the DRF, she'll still go Mares

The article is worth a read

I'll probably end up laying off like a pansy though, use the 'free bet' generated with a NRNB price perhaps

    Another Genius -

    In fact !

Lobos Whilst you're down there this weekend, can you do me a favour ?
Just let me know where they are stashed.
Send me the receipt for the bags.

If anyone else wants to "muck in" feel free,

    The games fucking gone

And as I'll be at Cheltenham that day, As a form of protest - I'll be throwing a bag of shit at the O'leary's as they waltz into the parade ring like they own it.

And also the BHA reps or whoever thinks having this mares hurdle in it's current form at the festival is a good idea still.

That includes all members on here who disagree on that.

I've already started shitting in bags as preparation. Just got to work out how to get past security and explain what's in the bags next.
Maybe disguising the smell with Paco Rabanne ?

Willie usually goes for the easiest race. This year it seems to be owner driven, according to Johnny Dineen on a podcast I watched, albeit Willie has come out and said it's been a 2 year plan! I wonder how many 2 year plans he makes that don't come off further down the line that we don't hear about, my guess would be bloody loads, because I'm very much of the belief that Willie plans ahead for near enough every horse.

I wouldn't blame Gigginstown nor Gordon for sending Brighterdaysahead to the Mares Hurdle, not one bit. As many attest to, people remember the winners, but rarely remember the losers.

I'd argue that Gordon doesn't have the same number of horses Willie gets, so to get a winner on the board early days would be a good start for him and his team.

    There is a difference IMO.
The greatest trainer still won the champion hurdle last season (not for the first time), and also the mares hurdle, both at long odds on.
He already had the favourite who had won all grade 1's over 2 miles that season with ease and was 2/7 SP.
    The Owner let it happen.

Elliott and Gigginstown never have won the Champion hurdle.

I think Elliot would deffo want to go Champion, despite what he says publicly.
That's also a difference in this regard IMO

To be fair to them though. Whilst I would disagree.
After the next 2 weeks play out, if Con Hill does what he ought to, and Lossie wins cosy enough in the Irish champion against State Man, then she's not a shoe in whatsoever.
Whereas she looks to be in the Mares without Lossie.

    That rationale I can understand.
