Wary of each other but not the best hurdler potentially we have ever seen
Find it bizarre that the mares are ‘avoiding’ each other. I know Elliott said ‘there’s a mare Lossiemouth’ when asked about the champion I think it was but she’s hardly done much since those comments. I very much like Lossiemouth as well and think she’d take BDA over either trip. I think BDA got away with one at Xmas that day and tactics were genius but her only chance of a Cheltenham win is the mares with no Lossie imo. There is zero chance they get away with those tactics again imo.

The way elliot speaks today about BDA seems like they will announce early, in which case this gives Lossie a potential headache/option.
If they announce for the champion and Townend is choosing State Man then the ears of Ricci will be ringing with thoughts and comments to go for the mares.
I'd have BDA a lot closer to C Hill than 9/4 NRNB and Lossie would also be a lot shorter than 5/4 NRNB mares.
Related double seems obvious. with cash out.

What better excuse than seeing CH put in a performance to justify taking the safer option, not necessarily sensational, but good enough. Instead they chose to let him do little more than a strong gallop. Are they themselves doubting whether he is in fact the same horse and are too afraid to show what’s under the bonnet in case it’s not what they hope. Maybe paranoia on my part but it sat a little uneasy with me at the time and I haven’t been able to shift that feeling since.

I should apologise this is the Mares hurdle thread after all

May be wrong but I just don’t see BDA being able to back up that sort of performance, without those tactics. I’d be gobsmacked if the other jockeys let them away with those tactics again. Nico would certainly be sitting on her quarters, Lossie prior to her fall seemed to cope with the pace she was setting and would probably be stocking C Hill.

The most impressive part of BDA that day was how she kept going once the pacemaker moved over.
The big if is if she can reproduce that sort of effort at Cheltenham. And if one of the other contenders can pass her up the stretch.
