Willie has always maintained she's hard on herself.

But that didn't matter because of how good the juvenile form was last season

Gordon might just go for the penalty kick, after all!

    • She'll not stay.

The winner is a very decent Mare and could well win in what might ultimately be a poor Mares.

      • She could end up in the County Hurdle, but again, she needs to learn to settle.

Surely can't get the mares hurdle trip!

          • I think the temptation of winning this will be too
much for connections of one of BDA and Lossie.
One of them will be here imo and I’m leaving the race alone now until the day I think.

              Will be Brighterdaysahead IMO.

The only time I can see Willie deferring from a 2 year plan for Lossie, is if she is beat by Brighterdaysahead at the DRF, which I'm not even convinced Brighterdaysahead turns up for.

              • County hurdle or nothing for Kargese you'd think after that display. I'd be stunned if she's able to get the mares hurdle trip given how she races. County the one race that would suit given the pace with which it's ran

The way BDA destroyed State Man at Leopardstown must be making it very tempting to go to the Champion Hurdle. She was brilliant that day. Especially as they have made it very clear she goes Chasing next season so it is now or never with her over hurdles. I also noted that her Leopardstown pace maker King of Kingsfield is entered in the Champion Hurdle too. I am not so sure she won't go there. I hope she does. I think she has a better chance beating Constitution Hill than Lossiemouth.

I also think Lossiemouth is better over 2m4f than 2m so I reckon there is a chance they will revert to the Mares Hurdle. Especially if she gets beat again over 2m in the Irish Champion Hurdle or the G2 Unibet Hurdle on Trails Day at Cheltenham.

So net net I am thinking BDA to Champion Hurdle and Lossiemouth to Mares Hurdle. Heads Up. I have been wrong before. Not a lot..... but it has happened.

                  • Any fresh update on Jade De Grugy? I saw she was back in training at the start of this month... Praying she can get a run in and head to Cheltenham as I have an antepost Trixie of Ballyburn for Turners (Void), Sir Gino (Arkle 10/1) and her for the mares at 14/1!!

Agree. Giggingstown will see the race as a penalty kick. Not pocket talking. Haven't backed BDA for either race.

I suppose the other scenario is that State Man bounces back at the DRF and puts her in her place. Unlikely but possible.

                        • From a selfish point of view i want BDA in the mares as I've nowt on her in champion hurdle but for the race as a spectacle i don't !

They are not foolish enough to believe State Man ran his race that day. I'd be more inclined to believe the run before, when they first met.

Yes she still beat him but he wouldn't lay a glove on Constitution Hill. IF Lossie wins at the DRF (and I think she does) she goes for the Champion Hurdle, it's that simple for me.

If Lossie wins at the DRF I agree. But. What if she loses ? What then ? Thats my scenario.

I'll play that scenario IF she loses. For now, for me at least, she wins.
