Chappers says Michael O'Leary has text him saying "The Mares will do for us" in regards to Brighterdaysahead. That should please the masses
And another season comes around and the best horses that win grade ones over 2 miles are talking about the fucking mares race.
Still a long way to go and I've no real money in this myself.
O'Leary would not think twice about changing tack if it suits.
And I think he likes to play the 'realism' card when he can.
“She had a setback the other day and is going to miss at least the first half of the season. She’ll stay hurdling for this season anyway as we wouldn’t send her over fences after missing so much of the season.“

The will miss AT LEAST the first half of the season would concern me the most. I can’t see her running anywhere but the mares hurdle if at all if the above is true as they won’t have time to get her up to speed and try a different trip out if it’s likely one run then straight to Cheltenham
True but 2m and 2 and a half are a lot closer for horses scope than 2 and a half and 3m imo.
I’m still writing off the Cheltenham run as the race was run at such a slow pace. It suited neither JDG or Brighterdaysahead. They both have that blend of speed and stamina.
With the news re JDG and that if she comes back this season then she will not go chasing, then where does this leave Kargese and Gala Marceau ?
In Willies stable tour he mentions both as MH candidates, but adds that if Gala jumps well when schooled then she may go MC…..Gala not priced for the MC at the moment
Kargese is rated similar to Gala over hurdles yet is a year younger. Same trainer and owner as JDG
With BDA probably going for the MH and if so, will probably make the race a true test to try and run the finish out of Golden Ace, then do we think Kargese can stay the 2 1/2 miles of the MH based upon her style of running last season ? Being beaten by Sir Gino by just over 3l doesn’t look so bad after the weekend.
At the moment JDG looks on form to have the better chance in the MH, with the higher rating and form over 2 1/2 miles.
Could either Kargese or Gala go County instead ?
The picture looks chaotic at the moment, but where’s there’s Chaos there’s opportunity and in turn Value !
If, like me, you believe BDA will definitely go CH then there's value to be had in the Mares Hurdle. Lossiemouth going CH, doubts re JDG, Golden Ace beaten in debut.......If they can get Kargesse to settle then she's the one to beat for me.
If however you believe BDA will go MH then it's a closed race imo.

So you back Kargese for the MH believing that BDA goes CH (I agree with you as I think she will go CH and that’s why I am looking particularly close at the MH market)
You hope that JDG misses the festival as she is higher rated than Kargese and has form at 2 1/2 miles ?
and that Gala jumps like a stag and goes MC ?
It’s another conundrum where an owner and trainer have three in the race, all with relative chances and logic says that all three will not run in the race !
