    ….i’ll put up Sixandahalf (MNH) with 16-1 available. Our Saxon Warrior posted this in his Punchestown review back in May, praise indeed;

    ‘Sixandahalf improved on her debut run to post 119 RPR - 25lbs of improvement on her 2nd lifetime start, and clearing away in the last furlong by 11 lengths.

    That rating (adding in her 7lb allowance vs the geldings) comes out as 1lb shy of the best rating for the winner of this race since 2014, so the visuals are backed up with a well above race standard rating.

    I am not sure I was as impressed with any other horse last week, as I was with this Mare.’

    In his ATR stable tour last week, Cromwell confirmed the target;

    ‘We’ve sent her on a break with a view to starting her over hurdles at Christmas or maybe a little later than that. It’s been unbelievable to watch how she has progressed on the Flat in the last few months considering she was only being broken in this time last year and debuted as recently as March. The level of form she has shown on the Flat makes her an exciting hurdling prospect and you’d have to be dreaming of the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle with her. The one knock on her is that she isn’t overly big, but she’s all heart and has a big engine, so hopefully that won’t hold her back.

      Do we know why she was withdrawn from the English Cesarewitch? Hoping it wasn’t injury?

            Hendo reckons JDR will "probably need" two and a half, so that would rule out the Arkle. Not sure what that leaves other than the Ryanair. For that reason I'd leave him out of a Yankee at this stage at least

              Agree it's a reason that he shouldn't be in a Yankee, but Hendo said the same thing about Jonbon and Shishkin for most of their careers despite them both going Arkle and QMCC first...

                  Fair point, can rely on Hendo's words almost as little as Starmer's but I'll go on that basis until it changes. Leaning towards Ballyburn for the Arkle at the moment and I think he's well ahead of Jeriko's current potential

                    ….looks like all roads lead to Cheltenham for Stencil after today’s impressive win. Confirmed target, Triumph Hurdle & 16-1 available.

                    Very popular on this site.

                      "He has enormous potential. He won his sole point-to-point in Ireland before joining us last season and showing his talent – he won his first three races before being pulled up at Cheltenham. He really is the most gorgeous big five-year-old and I think he'll almost certainly go novice chasing this season where maybe over a bit further than two miles he could and should be top-class."

                      I don't think the above rules out the Arkle at all. In fact I'm even more convinced that the Arkle will be his target .

                        JERIKO DU REPONET
                        "It will be novice chasing for him. I think he probably needs two and a half miles. He is a beautiful horse and one with enormous potential.

                        "He started last season winning twice at Newbury and then the Grade Two Rossington Main Novices’ Hurdle at Doncaster [replay below]. It was not as comfortably as I would have liked but still a smart performance.

                        "In a normal year I think he would have been incredibly competitive at Cheltenham but as we know our horses weren’t at their best and he was pulled up in the Sky Bet Supreme."

                          The bare fact they ran JDR in the Supreme gives it away imo. Also with the Turners possibly out of range if they think he is top class then that seals it for me. Ballyburn will have to do a Vega though if anything is to beat him.
