      I'm getting you a T-shirt.

      I'm talking about the market.
I think Langer Dan will get backed and could go off 2nd Fav.
Arguably he should, based on Cheltenham and Spring form, and ratings achieved in Spring.

Think those two you mentioned might be shorter though to be fair. Depends on how many people are still annoyed with both Dan's.

I don't think langer dan can be written off at all
Think Dan might well have an "I told you all" moment, and he'll run a big race.

            Level weights - it's a hypothetical handicap.
The point was - if this was a handicap everyone would fear Langer Dan. And he's actually near top rated.

                  • ….in an open contests, I’ve thrown a very speculative dart at Minella Missile 100-1 NRNB.

He has decent Novice form, beating Captain Teague over 2m 5f at Cheltenham before going on the sick list for over 12 months. He came back last month running wide over 3m and finishing down the field at Windsor. I was thinking handicaps but he needs 2 more runs and the entry for this suggests he’s well thought of.

He’s entered over an inadequate 2m in the valuable handicap at Newbury this weekend (which I had a little e/w interest at 66-1 at first decs). 100-1 NRNB is no risk in the likely case of him not turning up here but he’s entered for a reason and could get a haircut if he runs this weekend.

If you listened to Dan on the Unbridled webcast/podcast then you wouldn't hold out much hope at all for Langer Dan. He didn't sound confident at all. Rather perplexed in fact with how he has been. Looks like crossing fingers and toes if have backed LD and hoping for the best.

Been there before though haven't we ?
Maybe this time he's not lying, or he's never lied and the horse surprises them every March ?
                        We'll see of he's backed I suppose.
I'm on at 50's so won't go in again and maybe his words would stop some and may have stopped me if I was not already on.

                        • He's adamant that the horse is really hard to train in the winter isn't he. As much is it may be slightly for the handicapper benefit I think there must be some truth in it at this point. And we'll see him to much better effect in the Spring. In contention for 2nd here

I'm in same boat with a small bet at the 50s. Last year they definitely had excuses with the ulcers etc but nothing has been found this year and no reason to lie about anything. Literally just have to hope that the horse shows some kind of spark in the race.

I suppose there is still a reason to lie. If he suddenly started running well all the way through the season, coincidentally the first season he's not targeting a handicap, then it wouldn't be a great look, and might may things harder for him with the handicapper in future if he tried something similar with other horses. so he may have to keep up the charade so he can say "I told you he's just not the same in winter, it was nothing to do with plotting him".
