Which imo is where Lucky Place comes into it.
All the exposed ones just don’t look good enough really.
HBTL has different ways of running at times but catch him on a good day he’s pretty good.
Is the Wallpark exposed? He's only ran at the distance twice and is a progressing 7 year old.

Sorry, I was talking about those that I consider have a chance from what Ive seen
Anyway he’s exposed over the distance tied in closely with those that have been running here this season.
Take your 7 year old point though

        • I think it'll be interesting to see what the handicapper does with the front 2 from the Cleeve
Looking at the result and the Weights carried, the front 3 have all run to their current ratings.

I'm surprised gowel road is still available at 25/1 nrmb. For the pertemps.

I see Nigel twiston Davies has said
          .
“The handicapper has been hard on him all season, but now he’s won a race which is good. It’s a lovely race to win and this is smashing. He’ll definitely have to go to the Stayers’, any idea of going for the Pertemps Final is gone now

But if the handicapper felt he had the ratings of the front 3 correct already, is there a chance gowel road could still go for the pertemps or has he now earned his shot at the stayers?

Which twiston Davies said it? IMO it’s a VERY important distinction to make

which is probably why I think it could change

It sounds like a desperate plea from Twister, not sure how you can win a G2 for the first time and expect the handicapper to keep you on your current mark so I'd expect him to go up around 3lb.
As an aside I thought it was a dire Cleeve, just a handful of runners and not too sure how many of them were trying, and it's that that makes the handicappers job tough when assessing the race because if he is lenient on Gowel Road he's almost compelled to drop everything else, which I think he'll be unlikely to do....

Exactly….trouble is Sam also said stayers after the race. So it will be 2 against 1 assuming Willie doesn’t also agree. If Willie agrees then there will be very little change from this operation moving forward. They had some success with this strategy in the past but times have moved on and the powers base is elsewhere so they need to move with the times and Willie is their only hope.

I don't think he needs to adjust any of the front 3.
Maybe a 1lb either way for botox has -1 and monmiral +1 if he kept gowel road the same.

He could drop strong leader and crambo but he could also point to crambo being unbeaten right handed and much worse left handed and leave him unchanged.
Strong Leader first run since wind op.
To be fair they probably need dropping a few lbs anyway.

                    • Not sure whether to put this post in ‘under the radar’ or here but as the horse is looking a definite runner here and is 5th in the Bet365 betting for this race thought I’d mention him. Rocky’s Diamond’s win in the Galmoy last week revealed a few traits needed for this race as he is a real stayer and has a determination to win. He has been a revelation this season for his small stable (Queally). Probably not stopped improving. He is though only a 5 year old and that has to be a question mark against him. But I thought he should be at least on the radar of this forum.

                          Can't argue with that.

It's a dreadful division other than him
