Top work there Aaron. You have an eye for a stayer. I wasn't on the forum last season but backed Gidleigh Park quite early on your compelling argument for him. When he did come out people said his performance wasn't all that because Lucky Place made him work but i thought Lucky Place was very progressive last year and people had just dismissed Gidleigh rather than look at Lucky Place and mark the run up.

“The big question is where is his trip? We are going to have to find out if he stays three (miles).
“Two and a half miles over fences works well but two and a half over hurdles doesn’t work so well. The Relkeel (Cheltenham) could be the stepping stone for him. I think fences are going to have to wait until next season.”
This is taken from attheraces.
Relkeel and then hopefully on to the stayers
Fingers crossed!!

Surely he will want something with a chance
It's been a bad race for years and the lack of mentions confirms how its' perceived these days, shame as it was once a race to savour and look forward to....

Also like the race......as i do champion hurdle.......no idea why owners don't target these races more.....prob buy cheaper horses and less risk of injury.Fat Jockey Patron (est. Jan 2021)

Easily the most popular horse for many years was Honeysuckle......who obviously never jumped a fence. That Mares race crowd and celebration was on another level to anything I've seen and I've been there for 25 years plus every day
CH this year looks a potential cracker....and hope most of the possibles all make it there. If we do get Con Hill, State Man, Lossie, BDA and maybe SG or Mystical Power, then its prob a better race than Gold Cup or least run it closeFat Jockey Patron (est. Jan 2021)

Added Shoot First tonight @ 50/1.
Thought he was very good at Haydock off a big weight (before jocks claim), a race that has produced a Stayers Hurdle winner previously, in Paisley Park, albeit he won off a higher mark.
Teahupoo aside, something could come from left field and he's one I think can improve enough to at least give him an E/W shout. I know improvement from a soon to be 9 year old sounds unlikely but he's had 9 career starts, so he's lightly enough raced.
He has course form, winning a Pertemps qualifier last season and because of his age they may just roll the dice.
Was rated 139 before the weekend, I suspect he'll get 5- 6lbs for the win, so he's off 145. I haven't seen any quotes but I hope they'd target the Long Walk next, maybe.
