Had a very good run as we got his half brother shortly after Cash and Go who won the Future Champions Novice Hurdle too. Not often small owners will own back to back Grade One winners! Didn't get much luck with the next few so called it a day as an owner, but hopefully have another go at some point in the future...
Love that.

Home By The Lee is a solid yardstick and was only beaten 6l in this race last year. Considering BO was giving him 5lbs at the weekend, I thought, whilst it was mildly disappointing he couldn't win, it was also a very respectable seasonal debut.
There are an awful lot of horses above him in the betting who won't be running in this, and whilst it does have the whiff of a value loser, I think its completely the wrong price.
All that said, I took some of the 66/1 as I would have been more pissed off missing the price than probably losing the 1.5 points

what do you think about Gordon sending The Wallpark down the stayers route, or 152 not much to find to trouble the front few there, long walk nxt for him.
If the long walk is the intended next target, it gives gordon the opportunity to find out if hes good enough, if he isnt , then they'd still have an opportunity to aim for the peremps you'd think.
He's certainly one to keep an eye on.

I like to try and identify novices from the previous season that stay hurdling and have the potential to make up in to grade 1 class over staying distances, it's a little less obvious than a champion hurdler coming through from the novices, and it can become a good puzzle to crack. Last season I identified crambo as the 'one' I believed had the potential to become a grade 1 winner over 3 miles, he duly obliged, although was disappointing in the stayers hurdle and went In to that category of 'value loser'.
This season I think the 'one' could be lucky place.
His novice form is pretty damn good, he meets golden ace on Saturday, 10lbs better off for a 3/4length defeat the only time they have met, the price difference between the 2 for Saturday is something I've taken full advantage of.
His coral cup run for a novice was fantastic, looked to be closest at the finish, travelled beautifully throughout his races last season and looks an ideal type to relish 3 miles. Related to a midlands national winner on the dam side, i think stamina could be a real asset to this horse.
I got him added a few weeks ago, 33/1 was a bit of a shock, I was hoping for much bigger.
Hopefully a wtaf price can be around for saturday.
Buzz won the Ascot hurdle a few years ago, Henderson made comments afterwards about looking to go down the stayers route, he went pretty short afterwards, im hoping for the same saturday with lucky place.
Could be a good shout mate

Nico de Boinville was on top and said of the winner: “He’s gutsy and he doesn’t like getting beaten. He travelled so sweetly and jumped well. We went steady and he was quite happy going that.”
Henderson said: “That was plan B, he was meant to be going novice chasing he’s only five so we brought him back into here.
“The big question is where is his trip? We are going to have to find out if he stays three (miles).
“Two and a half miles over fences works well but two and a half over hurdles doesn’t work so well. The Relkeel (Cheltenham) could be the stepping stone for him. I think fences are going to have to wait until next season.”
This is taken from attheraces.
Relkeel and then hopefully on to the stayers
