In fairness it's completely reasonable to have opposing opinions on a forum, especially when a case is made as to why, like AaronLad has done

Only appearance at Cheltenham, beaten 45lengths in the albert bartlett..

same ownership as the reigning champion and hot favourite...

is this nrnb you're suggesting as this appears a very risky shout ante post for you sax ....
          No interest at NRNB prices.

At this stage it's full fat big prices on a horse like HVL or nothing at all.

I had Teahupoo covered a while back and nothing else.

Then added The Wallpark at 40s when talk moved from Pertemps to Long Walk.

He really showed up late on in the LW with a staying on late finish on his 1st start in a Graded race, which impressed me.

Watched the race back and was taken with Hidden Valley Lake too, at BFX price at the time of 30+ or the 25s boosted (for those that can boost/I can't), it's the sort of price that interests me vs a strong fav - if the ground was soft.

          Three is plenty for now

All proven now in a Grade 1 over 3M.

Hendos horse is improving, for sure, over midtrips, a.t.m.

Hes had 7 Hurdles runs, so similar chance to prove himself to date, as Hidden Valley Lake and a shorter price for the Stayers.

The Relkeel hasnt been chock full of Stayers Hurdle horses in recent times, so its not usually a go-to place for me to find one.

The step up to 3M will be key, next time out.

If after decs, I like him to win his first run over 3M, then easy for me to back him in that race, and take a view on the Stayers with winnings in my hand, if he wins.
That's the view I'd take on him.

Most of my antepost picks are generally big priced horses, so The Wallpark and HVL fit the bill as normal picks for me, over trip, Grade and ability.

The other type of antepost picks I make, are shorties, like Teahupoo, in rollups.

Lucky to have him early enough that way.

Not for a big payday - 15pts if he won.

So backing any big priced horses always tilts the Payouts higher on those, than I have if the Fav wins.

So if Im fortunate and end up with all 3 then I will be cheering on the bigger priced ones to win, but happy enough if the Fav wins.

Plenty of time to add or lose choices for any race just yet, post-DRF I would have much more idea of what I've got left, including a few more in the bin of wont run/wont win pre-Festival losers - no doubt.

Thanks for the detailed reply sax.

And of course he can't be ruled out, I just thought he's a little more exposed than what you think and maybe he's reached his peak, but time will tell.

You appear to have taken offence at my comment. It was an attempt at humour/wit. No offence was ever intended.

Absolutely, it’s important imo to have different views and opinions on this sort of forum.
They both make a good case for their respective horses I think.

Absolutely no argument. My comment was supposed to be humour. Everyone getting a little tense with less than 9 weeks to go. For the record that is an attempt at humour too.

None taken. I apologise if you thought my response was that of someone who has been offended, I was just flipping the coin and wasn't referencing anything in particular.

I think you know what I meant about turning 8 and all horses changing age at the start of the year

He had a heavy fall and was given plenty time to recover. Won his comeback hurdle run last year convincingly so they decided to stay over hurdles. I’d say he ran a decent race in open company and to finish just 4 lengths behind Strong Leader. I think he has and will be better than Strong Leader and a lot of people are backing him against Teahupoo.

Of course COD but it read to me like he didn’t understand why Sax didn’t like Lucky Place because Aaron did. All for putting reason against a selection, Hiddenvalley Lake in this instance but that doesn’t mean have to force a selection you may like as a reason against the one you don’t like.

If I’ve picked it up wrong. apologies

All I did was give my opinion on why I thought Hiddenvalley lake isn't a very good ante post bet,

I then thought it was appropriate I explained why i thought this, when he has potential opponents who are much more unexposed and open to improvement.

It's all just debate and opinions.
Not sure how I can be forcing my opinion on anyone by pointing out he's a much better bet, obviously imo.

That Long Walk was terrible, IMO. The proximity of both Beauport & Kateira, would have me worried about the form, especially with the favourite being a complete no show due to breathing issues.
Was all over him last year for it but that run beating beacon edge eased down giving 3lbs ruined that chance, he was put up to 151 after that.

Form is something to keep an eye on but for a seasonal reappearance in a Grade 1 it wasn’t the worst run in the world. Crambo was having his first run since disappointing at Cheltenham and Aintree last year having been short for the stayers. The rest were race fit, time will tell. I fancy him for the DRF race as mentioned in my post couple pages back.

Being lazy and asking rather than scrolling back a couple of pages, which DRF race mate? The 3 mile handicap hurdle? I can't see any Graded Hurdle other than the 2miler at DRF?

Haha ignore me then mate I thought there was a 3m Grade 1 at the DRF as well as Xmas.

Edit - might do no harm to bring him over for the Cleeve then see how he handles Cheltenham for a second time.
