  • Spectre 20/1+ Festival Antepost Videos

I’ve just put up a short series of videos on Twitter with my idea of th best value 20/1+ selections for each day at the Festival. They’re all a nice short watch.

Take a look when you get a moment, and hopefully they can spark a bit of debate. Tell me which ones you agree or disagree with. But bear in mind they’re the price they are for a reason. I’m not picking horses out at the head of the markets.

And obviously it would be really good to hear anbout any additional horses at 20/1 or better that you guys are interested in that I haven’t mentioned.

Finally for those of you that use Twitter it would be good if you would retweet them please.

    Some sound selections and reasoning.

Particularly like the Gold cup 2, for the current prices and the trainers and that "if " they prove good enough the target and getting a good jockey seems fairly likely.
Both have room for improvement either through the trip or lack of exposure.
I think they could both potentially struggle to find a race to shine in, early season. So I think the prices may hold or get bigger, particularly on the exchange. But they look about right for now.
But prices might not necessarily rise if they find the right races or simply show good form early doors, against elders/peers.

Henry's horse is actually available at 25-1 with B365.

Was looking at the race the other day and specifically the JP horses, but these 2 offered more value simply due to the lack of stable/ownership competition. Whereas the JP horses almost have to achieve ranking amongst themselves to get priority etc.

Nice work Paul and some horses in there I’d not considered previously.

What’s made you change route for KDB from Supreme to Gallaghers?

Some good shouts in there Paul. Fouroverthrutwo and I were discussing Ginny’s destiny. I think he’s a good bet, especially as Paul has appeared to confirm that Stay Away Fay is a National type rather than GC.

Excellent and decent length videos Spectre

Glad to see you joined me, with moving Kopek into your Gallaghers section, rather than the Supreme

I recall it was a debate between us, in the Fat Jockey Yankee month of JUNE, and you picked the Supreme for the Yankee, at the time.

I suggested the Gallaghers, and maybe Members should split stake the Yankee to cover both races, if there was anyone with target doubts.

Glad to have you on board, and that everyone had the option for either race back in June, for the Yankee (and maybe sensible at the odds, to cover both races).

Really enjoyed that Paul. I thought FAF for the Ryanair was the most interesting but you also mentioned horses I didn't even know existed which is always good food for thought this time of year. Everyone knows how real and facile price collapses are so content like this before the season gets underway is great. You wont have to be right too often to make a few quid, thats for sure.

Did I imagine reading he was staying in bumpers?

Profile compared to others Willie has to be honest Jackie.

I couldn't and wouldn't discount either race ultimately though. It's Willie!

I haven't seen it but it's not impossible. I would imagine a combination of what he has for this year amongst his new horses, and whether he thinks he'd benefit for more experience will be the deciding factor. It would be a surprise if he were to hang around in bumpers really though.

I recall seeing it too. I think it was in either the August or September Yankee thread insinuating there was stable talk that he could stay in bumpers this year.

Thank you Paul for taking the time to put these videos together. Really good. I've gone in with Blueking D'Oreaux EW at 50/1 and Gale Mahler EW at 25/1 plus Let It Rain WIN only at 14/1. And I'm going to bed happy they are a great addition to my AP portfolio. Many more single AP bets this year than previous. Every day is a school day !

You’ve tipped up at least 50% of my antepost picks so far Paul so hope you’re right. Have covered Kilgame for the Ballymore too though, impossible to rule out either on breeding & his previous run in France over just shy of 2m2f.

Rob will probably do his Annual We’re Going Chasing Podcast soon & clear that up a little he’s usually very informative on targets.

refreshing to hear view points on big prices selections, already getting tired of the early YouTube previews with most of the talk on the favs
