    • 2/9 to win a Huntington maiden on a Thursday and we're talking about the Triumph Hurdle?

Worst priced horse I've ever seen .... only to be beaten by himself after beating some trees tomorrow and is half that again

          Excellent.

I feel like I've just randomly chosen it as a hill to die on, but how often to big money purchases actually work out?

          Won the German Derby? wooooooooooow

Then came last in his next start

That German Derby form looks rubbish as well with whats come out of it (very quick glance) .... 0 wins from anything in the top 7

            Yup couldn't agree more

And if u were given the choice of a ex flat recruit out of Palladium or Mondo Man with the basis they can both jump, you're choosing Mondo Man every single time.

Quite interesting that the last real good 4yo to run in the supreme was Binocular. Won the exact same race on UK debut for Hendo, was Triumph fav. Then ran second time out in the Adonis scrambling in against a Nicholls yolk before being rerouted to Supreme where he was beaten by owner mate Captain Cee Bee. Obviously turned into a top class hurdler winning the CH as a 6yo. The main reason for the switch that year was because JP thought he had the Triumph locked with Franchoek….who ended up being beaten by Celestial Halo (another Nicholls juvenile) on the day……..anyway, I really think it’s more owner lead than trainer. Remember Hendo wanting to split Punchestowns & Long Run in the RSA back in day but both owners wanted to run……I think both run here unless SM has a set back

Not seen Palladium yet but Mondo Man hasn't a hope getting home at Cheltenham if he pulls like that again.

but there isn't at that stage in the careers for me to make that a real consideration

                    Same for the jockey

We won't learn anything tomorrow unless he flops or is workmanlike..... so it'll roll on

but they're both horrible prices really.... the Lullamba thing was pretty gross too

they are horrible prices but palladium was already mentioned a runner this week by henderson and was available to back with paddies at 25-1.
enough credentials for that to be value.

paddys also went 33-1 Lulamba for the supreme even though nrnb firms were 7/2, also value.

I do think it unlikely palladium proves to be as good myself, but hammers double suggestion at 571-1 reflects that.

                        Hendo of course

                        That weren't the question though

                        • I would say the front two in the betting deserve to be there and have been the two most impressive I’ve seen and have both been available at much bigger odds.
Guess it depends at what stage they are backed.
I wouldn’t back either right now, especially the fav.
As for palladium, for me it’s more fomo, and a cover in case he’s another Pegasus.

This is where I get torn ... and usually go for the sensible option

As the way bookies operative.... anything other than a defeat or a really laboured win ... he's getting cut AGAIN from the best priced 12s (14/1 if you take TWAF)

and whilst you can't get out of that..... closer to the time what will be be available to lay off at for a free bet - surely single figures just on connections

Obviously as Quevega and alike are saying, a chance it's much, much shorter

Almost backed in to a corner with it .... but not great margins at 14/1 and let's say 8/1 I'd be confident to lay at

                            • East India Dock, Sauvignon & Stencil all declared for the Triumph trial at Cheltenham on Saturday.

Only 4 runners so far but a cracking little race with them 3 in it.
