Nicky Henderson dismissed as"ridiculous" a gamble that has forced French import Lulamba from 33/1 down to 4/1 for the Triumph Hurdle.
"It's stupid- ridiculous. People are putting two and two together and coming up with Sir Gino, and that doesn't work!
There's no similarity between them whatsoever, except they both come from France and they're both owned by Joe Donnelly. He won't be that price tomorrow night - he'll be 25/1!" laughed Henderson.
It doesn't help when the deputy editor of the Irish racing post tips him on his show.
I mean its one thing the ordinary punter buying into it all and getting caught up in FOMO but surely there has to be something special if DJ tips him without seeing him run?
or am I being very naive?

He wouldn't exactly be known as a good tipster. I don't watch the show, but it wouldn't surprise me if his whole reasoning was "there seems to be a lot of chat about him, same connections of sir gino".

What makes you think Jennings is any different to anyone else with his FOMO?

Well to me he should show some level of professionalism then if that's the case. Tipping a horse on rumours is not something a racing post editor should do.

It's an entertainment show sponsored by a bookmaker. It hooks into the whole mantra that the journalists are too cosy with bookmakers. Much better podcasts out there that aren't sponsored by any one of the betting firms.

Don't get me wrong I watch the show and enjoy it. I also don't back every tip they say just based on their say so I just feel he should understand that as he's in a position to influence people, for his own credibility, he should not be picking a horse based on rumours.
Of course Lulamba could be very good.
To me it's certainly made the race exciting now at least.

I think that you're confusing the Racing Post with serious journalism.
Danny mullins just added to the hype on his Q&A asked what the best juvenile for the drf was, he said we haven't seen them all yet but saint lucie was nice but then said 'talk from the henderson camp is that their one very good'

Such as ?…..please share any recommendations
As with a lot of journalism these days I think it’s just lazy, a re hash of social media diatribe and FOMO - what happened to contacts built over time, getting on the phone and god forbid, boots on the ground? - it appears it’s too expensive verses what we get mostly at the moment - sorting the wheat from the chaff from other FJ’s would undoubtedly help

Upping The Ante is my favourite about. But if you’re taking their tips …
I think the most insightful pod at the moment is the new racehour show. The addition of Tony Keenan has taken the show up a notch. Three really good judges and entertaining too.
