Time for Willie to get the Blue Pills out if he’s gonna contend in March

Blue pills might do more harm than good, was to keen to get on with it today if anything and emptied his whole load prematurely. Although it didn't look like much of a load anyway.

            • ….the writing was on the wall with those pre-race comments from Willie about Willy.

              • "I received a text from his owner Rich Ricci the same evening and he expects the son of Beaumec De Houelle to improve significantly next time - racing left-handed and slower ground is also likely to see a better outcome." Mark Howard

                • Definitely not. Vauban and Majborough were cashed by plenty after their first runs....they may have been beaten by far better horses though.

I wouldn’t compare those 2 performances for a few obvious reasons. They still hit RPR’s of 134 and 138. Let’s see when the RPR’s come out tomorrow, I’d be shocked if Willy is above 125. He’s been beaten by an average horse in France and now an average horse in Ireland. I seen him in the parade ring yesterday and just looked like a baby still. I can guarantee this horse won’t be winning the triumph come March

                    • I'm looking forward to this year's renewal of that race Vauban lost to Pied Piper in.

Hoping we will see Hello Neighbour vs Charlus. Usually a race where the better flat horses start their juvenile campaigns and hopefully that's no different this time around.

Very much in favour of Hello Neighbour though.

I got the impression Charlus wouldn’t be ready by then. I could be wrong but I thought Willie’s demeanour and words suggested it’s by a while into the new year before we see him.

Edit: in fact Willie he says it’ll be “way after Xmas” and likely “January or February”. Says he’s back on himself.

                        • Murcia will do a Lossiemouth in the Triumph. Fillies have a nice record in the race and good words from Willie in his Stable Tour. Saw money for her following Willy's flop but 25/1 still available.

Yep, she's the chosen one, for Willie at least

Willie on Murcia - "A sharp filly with some fine French form. She looks a nice recruit to the yard and has a lovely pedigree. She has already won a Listed race at Auteuil and she's one we can't wait to get started on the track."

I like to read too much into things, as those on here will know, so here goes my farfetched imagination The last time Willie mentioned a horse being sharp, with regards to juveniles, was Vauban. I know, because I remember bringing it up as a point of note

I'd say hes got one that has serious serious potential thats been bought, but potentially unlikely to run this season
