That looks much better now for the Willy de Houelle form doesnt it

The pair finished 15L clear of everything else.
I think we are all waiting to see WdH, hopefully be soon.

I do honestly hope you're right about WDH, he'd be a lovely winner for myself (and many on this forum too), but the French form is looking a little all over the place, IMO. There are a fair few that have all beat each other this season, meaning there is no one stand out form line (there are form boosts for Stencil from the race too), not to mention I got challenged when mentioning Nietzsche Has being beat the last twice, but that form seems to have been easily forgotten. Recency bias and all that.

I think it's time to wait for him to appear and hope that the hype lives up to expectation

Eased down 18l winner beating what?

Ground and competition will be so much tougher in March. Doesn't seem to be much love for him on here .

Except for those who have backed him of course . Beat a 125 rated hard ridden horse effortlessly after a good round of jumping,I'd have him 2 or 3lbs higher myself. Plenty yet to debut but the bar is set at a good level by EID.

I doubt connections would be concerned what this forum thinks.
End of the day he’s come out and performed well .
They and everyone else know there’s bigger tests to come, but he’s started with a visually impressive win.
Can do no more at this stage.

              • James Owen says he has a few more 3yo who have been out once and who he will step up into graded and listed company.

In a separate interview, Owen expressly mentioned Lavender Hill Mob, saying, "There's another horse we like a lot called Lavender Hill Mob. He'll be running in early December. He's better on the Flat, schools well and should be a nice horse. He also likes soft ground."

But he hasn't been out yet, so it sounds as though he has other 3yo he holds in high regard.

One of those is probably Liam Swagger. Rated 82 on the flat and a two time winner over hurdles this season. But the 1/2 length win over Static, who was beaten 18l by East India Dock, suggests that he'll not be good enough for The Triumph. Indeed Owen has confirmed he is likely to be a Boodles horse.

The one that took my eye was Ambiente Amigo. Rated 95 on the flat, 6lb superior to EID. She made her hurdles debut at Newcastle 3-weeks ago. It was a typical juvenile performance in some ways. Very scruffy jumping, particularly at the second last which momentarily had her in bother. But she came back on the bridle and scooted away to win by 6 1/2 lengths.

I've no idea what she beat that day, not very much is my guess. An RPR of 92 reflects that. But the way she accelerated was impressive. And there's clearly significant room for improvement in the jumping department, something which East India Dock doesn't have in the tank - he jumped very nicely.

James Owen has said this of her:

"I love her, she is a very nice filly and progressive. She is rated 95 on the Flat and was Listed placed during the summer. We have been teaching her to settle and she fell asleep on her hurdles debut at Newcastle, which was good. Her jumping was OK and she won well in the end. We have done plenty of schooling with her since and her jumping has been very good. I think she could be smart over hurdles and the plan is for her to return to Newcastle (30th November) for a £30,000 Introductory Juvenile Hurdle. I am expecting her to handle wet ground."

I've had her added to the market at 66/1 w/ Paddy Power and I think that's very fair. If they've done plenty of schooling with her and her hurdling is improved, I'd expect her to win at Newcastle ahead of a tilt at a better race in the New Year.

well Lobos I thought he was visually impressive. People can talk about the lack of opposition but visually I liked what I saw. If he gets there in one piece then he has to be a contender.

Contender possibly, winner.... unlikely. Mullins battalion will be hard to budge along with the Henderson candidate whoever that may be. It'll be the same story again.

Aside from the fav who ain’t come out yet, what else does he have at this moment ?
Not much in the betting that I can see.
While we await Mullins and Hendo possibilities, I am definitely watching how others perform, and I saw a darn good performance at the weekend at Cheltenham.

Yeah I'd definitely agree the french form certainly doesn't seem standout this season and definitely not as simple as previous years. The only thing I'd say though, is the Cambaceres is the race of the season for the FR juveniles in terms of prestige and Francois Nicolle had been vocal regarding bringing Sain D'esprit along slowly since his debut after the break, and Nietzsche will have been similarly for all he was disappointing on his 2nd run back (1st one very happy to ignore - too fresh and keen, weight conceding) so them 2 are what I currently see as being the strongest FR form we have on offer as of now.

Hopefully within the next couple weeks, we start to see some of these juveniles being entered in some races and can find out who's good and who's a dud.

Just because some arent at the top of the betting, doesn't necessarily correlate to their form/chance.

Yes I get that and I await seeing them.
I was just being lazy looking at the betting, but then I don’t really have much else to go on till I see them run.
