My opinion is that he is more of a back up to Lulamba, a bit like the Sir Gino/Con Hill scenario. Get him out, see how he jumps, and have him on red alert if Lulamba steps on a stone (or Salvator steps on a stone and he feels obliged to reroute L).

Hopefully, he jumps like a table, pulls like a train, and it’s a case of ‘as you were’.

Don’t see much point in going to a tinpot maiden hurdle if you ain’t going to use that as practice for a bigger hurdle down the line.

Henderson has talked it down/managed expectations and mentioned flat race targets also.
If Palladium looks decent enough over hurdles I cannot imagine for a second they don't bother running in the triumph.

I have Lulamba well backed, plus in a few multiples. Can't be having a horse come along and ruin that

I've backed Palladium NRNB, so would likely get my stake back too!

You are quite right, of course, he can finish 2nd to Lulamba that's absolutely fine.

What he's running against tomorrow is chalk and cheese as to what Lulamba faced on debut for Nicky, IMO. Reminds me of the Pentland Hills debut. He won a pretty poor renewal of the Triumph and I'd hope this years is a fair bit better than that. That said, Palladium is also rated plenty higher than Pentland Hills was on the flat too.

That makes even more sense.
If you want a horse running on the flat why send him to a NH trainer?
Absolutely, if he does it all well tomorrow then Triumph for the owners.

Ive covered for a bit of insurance.
Ive also got Lulamba for Supreme, just in case, but for less payout (at the moment).
Done the Supreme/ Triumph double as well.
Bit of fun bet, but you never know in this game.

Purely for my personal position on the Triumph. Have some nice positions on other horses and would rather not have Palladium muddying the waters at this time of year.

I realise for others that the quality of race comes first and another top quality horse makes it more interesting.

I've done all the same as you as cover, would still prefer Lulamba to smash everything in the Triumph though One less (Palladium) would help too!

I asked the same question and a few answered that lulamba won't go the supreme. Of course you can't rule anything out but as Salvator Mundi only has 1 entry, that being the supreme, then it's unlucky Lulamba, since having same owners, will go head to head.
im with you it could cost me a few quid if he does run the supreme. Just have to hope that SM doesn't get injured and palladium doesn't play ball tomorrow.

These owners are a dream for a trainer.
Buy good horses and let the trainer get on with the job it seems without much interference.
So if Hendo wants a runner in the Supreme with a big chance,I don’t think they would object if they have another in the race with a big chance.

last 'big one' i remember going supreme was fakir doudaries and he was 4th but nowhere near klassical dream. feels more and more each year we see keep all options open but they go triumph
