He's going to stud. Got the graded win to put on his CV. No point in risking him for a £75k pot when he's going to make much more than that at stud. Not sure I'd send one to him above some of the other younger French stallion though.

      • I wonder if Willie is thinking of giving Fou De Toi a shot at this now. Charlus being on the sidelines means he has used his arrows at this now (pretty much) All of his horses second runs will be very interesting. Is there an issue in the yard or are they just very undercooked? We know he peaks them for the spring but they seem miles behind. Could be a good time to add a bit to the ones you like if you think they will come on for the run, or in some cases, half a run. In most of the cases, the market has told us before the races that the horses were not going to be doing anything. Murcia sticking out to me, Ethical Diamond, Leaky Cauldron and Eclipse Chaser yesterday. Kaid D'authie is starting to take a walk in the market today.

She was my biggest winner I do still have Charlus and Fou De Toi but the race looks dead in the water. Amended the original post, i meant Kaid D'authie not Final Demand

He's only standing for 7k a go, how much will he actually make at stud with that price tag?

He'll probably cover over 100 mares each year so over €500k once factoring in discounts.

And that’s recurring income. Plus factor in potential rises in fees based on his success at stud too. The best NH sires are fetching closer to 20k if they’ve consistently produced top horses over time.

Yeah. I'd rather send a mare to him than Luxembourg for example for similar fees.

The top French ones you can get for 15k or less as well - some of the Irish ones are overpriced.

And he doesn't even have to get off the settee.

Henderson said he could be flat or jumps horse - not guaranteed to go jumping: https://www.sportinglife.com/amp/rac...he-flat/221213

I was more thinking, if they kept him in training and ran in / win the Triumph how much income would they miss out on, based on your figures maybe £125k.

It's obviously risk vs reward / particularly after Sir Erec, but I think it would be good for the sport if we had a few mo Lee "entires" competing

Followed in a close third behind Nicky Henderson's Bib supplier.
