Not backed him till today. Only in a double with C Hill
13/2 will look decent on the day.

            Right.
I backed Gaelic 13-2 ladbrokes NRNB for the champion chase today.
I Had thought he'd not run at his best in either start at Leopardstown and today was a non event.
Slightly disappointed the bookies didn;t over react, but 13/2 should he line up will beat SP I reckon.
Depending on Fact to File now to see where the French horse goes.
Then we'll see if Jonbon can produce his best at Cheltenham, and I'll decide if to include him in some sort of multiple. He's never been a price I could back him at.

Got it ….it was the reference to CH that threw me. I’m now reading that as an old bet you did??? Anyhow it doesn’t matter…He does get a lot of passes from folks this fella

Yeah, when he (C Hill) drifted to 11-2 Lads (4-1 others), I doubled him with Gaelic, GDC, Teahupoo and Gino.

Today was definitely worth a pass.
I tend to try and get weak (always too short priced) favourites beaten by teaming up against them.
definitely no fan boy of Gaelic, just respect his chances at the price.

Yep,certainly did not look a 2 miler today
Cant see him keeping up in a proper run CC, which it will be with Solness and maybe IEF, and Jonbon don’t hang around either.

Don't forget Matata in that, could be plenty of pace from the front.

                    • Ricci says Ryanair or CC for Gaelic. He never expected him to win today as he dislikes Leopardstown.

                      • Gaelic hasn't looked like he was ever going to win either of his Leopardstown races this season. Looked like he was being trained for just once race in mind, which will be at Cheltenham in March. The only query is, which race?

That they are even thinking about Ryanair says it all imo

                          • Can't see gaelic winning either race myself

We've seen plenty of him now. Just not good enough.

He usually runs to high 150s low 160s. He got a big figure for the arkle but that was a poor race and it fell apart. That figure was very much the exception rather than the rule.

He won't beat jonbon if jonbon runs his race and he could face fact to file or il est francais in the Ryanair.

                            • You'd think if Fact to File went Ryanair then it's unlikely Gaelic does also... I know they're different owners and have different involvements in decision making for targets. But if JP's lot want to go Ryanair I suspect Willie will steer Gaelic towards the CC

Quite simple really. Proper Soft ground or worse equals CC and anything drier he goes Ryanair. Will be a force in either race.
