  • Really lads. Matata is going to win the QMCC. Have you all been on the piss. Even NTD said after the race "I think all those behind him had alternative plans for todays race because he hasn't improved 20lbs all of a sudden". Basically suggesting there were not many behind him trying very hard.

Completely agree madness he’s beaten handicappers, that were running like handicappers, to lose weight. In reality you’re probably looking like he’s ran to his mark at best. He’s a very consistent sort to be fair. He was fucking beat off Calico (another handicapper) on seasonal debut! Christ he’s a handicapper himself, one himself who unfortunately finds his rating sky high due to his 4th in the Arkle!

      • Oh there was no suggestion he could win anything, more that he could ruin IEF having a chance of winning by both taking each other on for the lead.

        • Quite right. An 80/1 loser is worth as much as a 4/6 loser

I'll respectfully assume you don't need me to go and list the 1-2-3 for the QMCC for the last 10 years

There are horses far worse than Mateta that have placed at odds of much shorter than the 90/1 highlighted earlier today

Or the amount of times it's been 7 runners or less in that time

Funambule Sivola's placed twice for starters

Craigy14 - have you ever had a big priced placed return mate? Or does the fav beat 2nd fav and 3rd fav in that order every race?

            • Welcome back Kev......I stand by my statement. To make things better between us me thinks he's going to Aintree as an add-on.

                Cheers mate

Matata threw his hat into the ring for Queen Mother Champion Chase honours after running riot over his rivals in the Fitzdares Great Park Handicap Chase.

An outing in the Champion Chase now beckons for Matata, who was cut into 33/1 by Sky Bet for the Grade 1 test.

Twiston-Davies added: “He will go to the Champion Chase now and then maybe go two and a half miles at Aintree. We know he runs well around Cheltenham and he could run into a place.

                I agree with big NTD

Can afford to dream with 2x 100/1 winners tipped though can't I

Good luck retiring on your Triumph Hurdle hype horse, the 12th this season .... (the effort I've just had to go to just to try and find a slight dig was way OTT there)

Mateta is shite by the way, but so was Funambule Sivola the two years he placed, so was Politilogue when he was 25/1 ante post, so was Special Tiara the year Douvan didn't get around......

Knocking an 80/1 shout isn't what I like to see .....

Some might say that suggesting a horse who has never raced at a trip this short (2 miles), sulks if taken on for the lead, has burst blood vessels before and has never raced at Cheltenham, could be dreaming if they think it can win a Champion Chase, let alone value at 6/1... Give me the 80/1 ew any day for an improving 2nd season novice with Cheltenham form.

Apparently El Fabiolo couldn't lose last year...

                          • This is much more like it.
Still nowhere near as good as the traitors but an improvement.
