He looks like he needs further. Unless it was a bog, I think he'd be beaten before the second fence

Yeah, if good enough I would say Ryanair has to be his race in March

      • Soft ground could make the difference re a Champion Chase challenge especially if it were to cut up. He'll be entered for both but Ryanair must be fav.

        • I haven't watched the race back and did only watch it on my phone, but it looked to me that FaF seemed to jump to his right for the last few fences surely a concern?

Yes, he jumps to his right, something he has done continually through his chasing career. Got away with it in novice company and then at the weekend when his main rivals all ran below par. Wouldn't have a chance in my book in a genuine L/H G1 race, unless it falls apart again.

            • Leopardstown at Xmas over 2m could be FAF's next race. Won't be going John Durkan and probably not KG either.

              • Just watched Road to Cheltenham Challenge Ep2. Both guys put up Energumene as their antepost tip with Bryan Cooper saying “If he turns up, he wins”.

As you were, will get won by a UK horse who sky rockets to near favouritism for the champion chase only to get to March and see a totally different level of opposition….

                          No surprise there.

                          • Some interesting Irish entries there
Quilixios with his style of running would be a good watch round Sandown with Jonbon
