Lovely to see Energumene back bit I don't think he'll be winning this still
Banbridge was giving it a good go, close at the last, despite giving 10lbs to Energumene. That says it all. This race has always been between the two market leaders, and still is.

    • Energumene had plenty left. Dinoblue beaten 10 lengths but would get 10 pound swing in a grade 1. Let's hope he goes to Ascot.

        Out so missed it
Within a couple of lengths, maybe 3/4? Giving weight away as well and needing further…

        • Banbridge was giving Energumene 10lbs also.

Would've been interesting if he didn't unseat

          • That’ll be the nail in the El Fab up in trip coffin me thinks

Really do love energumene, he’s another that doesn’t get as much credit, just because he won 2 champion chases on soft/heavy. He’s lost 3 races in his career thus far, absolute class act! He’s also acted on a lot more than just heavy going.

            • Lots of ifs and buts for me.
Energumene won easy enough, not sure how close banbridge got, think the camera angle wasn't great.
But I think Banbridge and the mare emerge with credit also, for sure.

                And on unsuitable ground.
                Thank you, appreciate that.

                • Worth noting that Banbridge has already had a pipe opener. Enurgemene basically made Banbridge put a sloppy jump in with how well he jumped. After a year off, he has beat some very good yardsticks there. He is a 10 length winner over Dinoblue, give her the 10lbs. She still get's nowhere near my book. Tiny bit of pocket talk included

                  • Yep, all the excuses ignore the fact Energumene has been off 18 months and came back at 10yrs old and looked as good as ever.
                    Banbridge looked fucked to me.
                    Energumene bombed over the line.

                    • Think the main thing is that we have the 2 time winner earning the right to line up again.
Great for the race and us to
                      look forward to

The ground is pretty much good to soft. Perfect ground for Banbridge.

It would have been close had they both jumped the last well imo. They were both hands and heels going to the last and I don't think the race was over.

Banbridge comes out the best horse at the weights and i'd rather take 33s on him winning the CC than Energumene at 6s.

                            I'd suggest the opposite.

With el fabs jumping looking questionable and energumene looking brilliant there, surely Paul will want to ride energumene and Gaelic at festival? You'd assume energumene will go Clarence house now - if he beats jonbon there, surely Gaelic as the more flexible trip wise goes to the ryanair? If jonbon beats him, Gaelic goes champion chase. El fabs fits in as second string in champion chase now for me to either energumene or Gaelic.

Not watching but noticed the ground described as soft.
                              Not that bad then ?

Just watched again, don't think he was going to go past, but I was wrong in him being fucked.
I wouldn't back either to be fair.
