Haha really?! Remember the price takes into account if he wins. If he’s 33/1 for the festival you’ll get 40/1.

    • Dinoblue...
The path I am looking at is the Hilly Way Chase at Cork, followed by the Opera Hat Chase at Naas. We were looking at her as a Champion Chase mare this season, but we’ll keep all options open.

I'n struggling to believe she goes to the Queen Mother ahead of Energumene, Gaelic Warrior and El Fabiolo, and I can't see Mullins sending 3 to the race.
That said he has namechecked the Mares Chase for a couple of other horses so who knows, a case of having too much talent in the yard....

JP will tell him anyway, so a lot will depend on Jonbon IMO

I say a lot, probably just a little bit as obviously different jockeys - Walsh and Posh Boy

I heard Posh Boy referred to as Noodle Arms the other day, made me laugh....

JP has 4/5 others doesn't he that are right up there in the betting for the Mares Chase. He doesn't need that many for a nothing race.

I bet he was gutted he didn't send her to the CC this season as she would have bolted up. Hindsight eh ??

                  • Dinoblue ran a cracker in the mares chase last season on that testing ground with her stamina doubts. Think she wins that this time if less testing.

If noodle arms and mark Walsh rocked up against each other I know who I'd back...

Energumene - Hilly Way, Clarence House or DRF, CC
Jonbon - Tingle Creek, Clarence House, CC
                          El FAb - DRF, Ryanair?
Gaelic - Not heard much, anyone know race plans?

                            ….source; Mullins ATR stable tour re GW;

“He missed a little bit of time, but he’s back on the go now. He will go for the Grade 1 over two miles at Leopardstown’s Christmas meeting and then go to the Dublin Racing Festival. The Clarence House would be an option, but just an option. The Champion Chase is his long-term target.“

                              Excellent
Was thinking GW for a race at Xmas and then DRF before CC. Good news that.
                              Thanks Eggs

Agreed, Only 2 pounds in the difference this time between her and limerick lace i believe. Her best chance is in the mares chase. she isn't in the top 3, 2 milers in Willie's. El fabiolo, energumene and gaelic warrior ahead of her.
Willie was all over the place talking about Dinoblue. Said she finished 2nd in the Champion chase this year, and said she would go to Opera Hat in Naas and onto DRF.. he is trying to get horses to travel back in time as Opera hat is week after DRF.

Can't go Hilly way and 2 month break to DRF or Opera Hat IMO.
You would be disappointed if she didnt win the Opera hat going on last years renewal but she finished 1st and 2nd in leopardstown so she has good form there. Logic for me would be to run with Gaelic warrior at christmas to pick up the pieces if he does an el fabiolo Champion chase job on it and then to Opera Hat and then mares chase. 2 winnable races and 1 season opener with similar breaks between races.
Willie left a cheltenham winner behind with her last year. She would have won the champion chase with the way it unfolded and if he went the route last year he is talking about this year she wouldn't have had the 5 pound penalty from her win at Leopardstown in the grade 1 at Xmas so would have beat limerick lace.
