What I would say re decline is, he ain’t jumping probably the best he’s ever jumped at Cheltenham if he is.
Personally I would say if Boot and/or Edward face him a gain in the Tingle, their will be more distance between them.
Hendersons other 2 runners ran really well so perhaps Jonbon did run his race and just falls short of his best at Cheltenham as people have said. Plenty of other G1's he can pick up outside of Prestbury Park though as he's done previously. I don't envisage him winning in March and won't be attempting to add him rightly or wrongly. Gut and Lobos eyes still says Gaelic will be triumphant.

Well we will all have our views.
Mine is that Jonbon will strip fitter at Sandown and be primed for the Tingle Creek.
As for March, still no wiser.

Hendo normally has them pretty fit so I don't expect him to come on too much at Sandown. However, that course clearly suits him much better so he's likely to perform at a higher level than today. He might get it all his own way again though as I've sorted of given up hope now that any of Willies will travel over for the race.

Oh he was fit enough for today, but they would have left something to work on for sure.
Yes, he’s a way ahead of any other in Britain at his best and should he be at Sandown that’s yet another grade 1.
As for Cheltenham, I also have a doubt it suits him against the best, but he certainly jumped round there well today.

          • Re Gaelic….. I’ve still not given up on him coming over for Sandown, not heard anything definitive on that.
Looking forward to seeing how he’s progressed into senior level. He’s an exciting horse.

            • I must sound like a Jonbon hater but my whole year is geared towards picking winners for the Fez and he's not one of them for me. He is certainly a very exciting horse to watch elsewhere though with his flamboyant attitude.

Yep, I think you have made it clear he’s not for you!!

                  • The early money is coming for Found A Fifty at Navan. A win today would give Gordon serious food for thought ahead of March. He’ll have seen off two of his potential rivals (albeit with race fitness on his side) - who would he have left above him -

                    Jonbon who evokes mixed feelings
The Mullins trio who all currently have question marks
Marine Nationale who didn’t look up to it
                    That’s about it

Got to be v tempting to take a shot. Similar to Irish Point in the Churdle last year (I know he had Teahupoo as well for the Stayers). Have a go at the bigger race - can always do Ryanair with FAF next year..

The 33/1 could look a good each way option later today.

                      Yes it could
Think he will be spot on today after his last run.
If he were to win today they then have plenty of time between deciding which race for him.
And can see how other contenders are looking.

                      • Well that race fell to pieces somewhat.
Think one of the favs for the QM would have pissed that.
                        Ryanair for FAF imo.

                        • ….Lads a bit of a stand-out at 33-1 FAF after that win.

Strange race. A win is a win though, i am happy whichever race he ends up in. Maybe the ground is worse than it looks? If Down Memory Lane bombs out like he did at Leopardstown it could point that way.

A win is a win, but imo that win was a loss as far as him winning a QM is concerned.

                              • Jonbon gets stick for workmanlike performance against essentially a 158 handicapper yet Found A Fifty doesn’t seem to be getting the same stick for beating a 153 rated handicapper a neck, albeit giving some weight but FAF was race fit.

He needs 2 and a half imo.
