Ryanair - Fact To File, El Fab
    Gold Cup - Galopin, Banbridge

I'd like to see him in the CC and do a BDA
CC looks weakest based on that.

    • Protektorat absolutely flew up the hill to win this last year - Dan will have worked back from this race and will have him spot on in March.

There is so much doubt over who will turn up from the top of the market, i think he's a cracking bet a 25/1 - you won't see a returning champion at that price in many other races.

I agree, that's a perfectly fair each way price

Fav for the race at Windsor where Djelo is shorter in the ante post Ryanair market too

If he's beaten as well and they push him out even further I'd definitely consider backing again..... horses for courses and returnign festival winners make money backed blindly so even if he appears out of form it'll be worth considering

Of course he might win and go off single figures, so I like it

Surely he is now on the downgrade and got his soft ground and win last year in this, win purposes no but might have a place chance. Sky used to do antepost place odds but incant see this now for each race.

          • Energumene 10-1 NRNB sky
            probably good value
connections pretty much said that they need it soft/heavy to help him in the champion chase.
            think the words were….
            ”it’d be worth a pop”

If he runs here he’s likely one of Mullins 2 main darts. So unlikely to be a bigger price IMO.

The bet suits me as he has the class and the rating.
And I have Fact to file at big prices from early season and of course - still the best value bet in the championship races in protektorat.

Could Paul ride Banbridge in this and all three go to the QM?

I’d say it’s unlikely as surely Willie will have atleast one runner (Non JP) here with a chance of winning

I have assumed he only rode Banbridge in the King George because he was there to ride Lossiemouth on same day. In effect a one-off.

                    • Loved that from Protektorat, great ride from
Skelton, let the horse enjoy its race, and then gave breathers and then speeded up and slowed when needed. Thought he was a bit two dimensional as a jockey a few years ago, but he’s really learned his trade the last few years.

                      • Allaho type performance that from him. He'll take a lot of beating again in March. That was outstanding.

                        • I think it was Q that was banging the Protektorat drum a month or so back at 25/1. Good shout

                          • Was highlighted in here a few times that Protektorat was a good price, I hope many have taken advantage .

                            • He's still value IMO at 10-1 NRNB.
Be very surprised if Dan is not wanting to give him a break now and then run here.
With all the doubts about the others ahead of him in the market, if Fact to File goes gold cup then I'd say he would be near favourite (probably second best to the Townend/Mullins choice)

Related double with fact to file probably value also.

12/1 without the NRNB - which is fair enough

Dan on SSR said he had 2 targets this year, today and Cheltenham (obviously)

                                Straight there now
