I’m sure we had a similar dry spell in 2021, if I’m remembering correctly. WPM never got his top hurdle prospects and novice chasers out until early Dec. Ferny Hollow before he got injured I’m sure it was! Even then Sir G deputised at Xmas in a maiden hurdle!

From what I can see…….
Newbury eg, is forecast the possibility of rain for 4 of the next 10 days, but only about 50% chance .
…..according to BBC just now it’s apparently turning cold next week, frost forecast.

I thought we only had a weather thread in the weeks running up to the festival! Pauling has said The Jukebox Man may stay over hurdles if the ground doesn't soften up as he won't get him out when he wants for a novice chase campaign. Possibly get others making similar decisions if we still have good ground into December.

Getting back to the race itself in March when I look at the top of the betting there are a lot of horses that simply will not turn up here - Jonbon, Gaelic Warrior, El Fabiolo. I am thinking Il Etait Temps at 10/1 could end up the favourite and a great bet. The more I think about it the better bet he looks. Have I lost the plot ?

Still runs very well but doesn’t get his head in front. Similar to Jonbon (although he has won at Cheltenham). Agree about the top of the market though, few won’t be coming here.
