  • While I don't think JWM is quite right, I think finding the winner of the Ryanair is about mostly a third season chaser who has been competitive but inconsistent at championship level at 2 or 3+m, rather than novices stepping up

Obvs no guarantees of coming here but say L'Homme Presse or Fastorslow would be bang on the kind of horse I'd want to be backing here

Rated 162. Form over the intermediate trip over fences reads F-1-2-1-3-1.

Thought he ran a very good race in the Punchestown Gold Cup, only weakening away 2 out, but was still travelling well prior to that, when some of the main protagonists were getting pushed along. That was obviously over 3m, so a step back looks on the cards.

Going to be 9, so I guess it's now or never for him. That said, connections have yet to return to Cheltenham with him since his heavy, tired looking fall in the Ballymore.
This is a hill I died on two seasons ago, and I’m not doing it again…

That rating looks wrong also, bit harsh based on that grade 2 he won IMO.
Maybe not. Thought he showed up well in the Punchestown Gold Cup for a long way though.

I don't think his rating is too far off, possibly a bit inflated but only by a couple of lbs, IMO.

On a line through Conflated, he wouldn't be a million miles away in the Ryanair.

I was actually hoping for something around 33's or bigger so I may wait and hope he's beat on seasonal reappearance.

Been matched at bigger on exchange, I reckon if you're patient you'd get 75/100's

            • El Fab looks a good price at 12s

Willie has floated idea he might need to go out in trip & I do think it would help his jumping too

He’d be best horse in race prob if he did go here …..so guess depends how likely you think

I don't think they'd give up on the champion chase that quickly myself personally. He had a fall and then was beaten next time up, which they could just put down to the fall shaking his confidence a little and he could be back to his best after a break.

it would surely be hard for them to look past how easily he brushed jonbon aside in the arkle and, and you'd think they'd fancy their chances of being able to get him back to that level, albeit jonbon has improved since then.

I think they'll start him off over 2m again, and if he's unimpressive once again then his odds would might easily go out for the ryanair, even though his chances of going there would increase.

                • Still think EF is their best 2 miler when all on their game, but his jumping is a real concern now, whatever race he runs in.
They all have their price though!!

                  • The Ryanair would hardly be run at a crawl but obviously not as quick as a champion chase and would involve even more jumping. I still think it will be the champion chase with him. If his jumping and confidence is completely shot then he won’t be winning a Ryanair either.

                    • Interested to see how Found a Fifty gets on today. Giving a stone to a 147 rated race fit rival. Be a big effort that, especially as most are saying Gordon's didn't look 100% ready yesterday. One of the more appealing Ryanair bets at the moment imo, as it's actually his known plan.

Can’t for the life in me see him being good enough to win a Ryanair as nice a horse that he is. I get the ew angle for book builders as he will probably run but I couldn’t have him as the winner.

                        • Envoi Allen is such a star. Maybe not reached the rating we thought he would but so many good wins in his career.

                            • Annoying that no one would price pre race and not listed on exchange as the real whacker would have been a nice steal for this race.
see what prices come out now I suppose

                              • Found A Fifty good performance there giving the weight away against a race fit rival.
