Last year's winner went very close to winning again this year after being heavily punted into favourite. Could easily see the same again happening to Protektorat. At 14/1 and bigger on the exchange he definitely is the 'sensible ' and most obvious bet to start off with in the race.
Only thing that concerns me is , if Dan Skelton might aim Grey Dawning here instead of the Gold Cup.
But Protektorat is in the team already . .

14/1 does seem fair…

Ginny's Destiny "Had a fantastic season last year, his first year with us, he won three Cheltenham novice on the trot. He ran very well in the Spring, he was second in the Turners and then he was second in the Grade 1 at Aintree, so he had a fantastic first season.
"The plan this year is to start him off at Newton Abbot in an intermediate chase on 19 October and then after that he'll obviously have an entry in the Paddy Power Gold Cup.
"He's very much in the same mould, same rating as Stage Star last year, loves Cheltenham, jumps really well, and hopefully we'll have a good season again with him.
"I wouldn't be surprised if we entered him in something like the King George later on as I'm sure he'll be even better over three miles."

Thoughts on Journey With Me for this race?
Rated 162. Form over the intermediate trip over fences reads F-1-2-1-3-1.
Thought he ran a very good race in the Punchestown Gold Cup, only weakening away 2 out, but was still travelling well prior to that, when some of the main protagonists were getting pushed along. That was obviously over 3m, so a step back looks on the cards.
Going to be 9, so I guess it's now or never for him. That said, connections have yet to return to Cheltenham with him since his heavy, tired looking fall in the Ballymore.

That rating looks wrong also, bit harsh based on that grade 2 he won IMO.
