Yeah I'm not sure why you're going on about the King George mate tbh, I'm talking about the Ryanair.

My point being if he’s not very competitive in the King George, a race that suits him down to the ground it’s hard to argue a case for him dropping down in trip for the Ryanair. As I said previously that switch suited Protektorat last season because he couldn’t settle over the extended trip but the same can’t be said for BMG.

I brought up the King George as although he could win of course if he runs, I very much doubt he will, thus in turn, likely giving you a better price for the Ryanair and also more information to decide if you even want to back him.

Also I can’t believe the bloody Ryanair is getting more thought and comment than the Gold Cup

We’ll probably get a better price about the winner when Fastorslow beats him in the John Durkan this year Craigy!

Although it's absolutely crazy that you've got people writing him off for the King George despite being a prior winner and desperately unlucky not to win the most recent renewal, A middling run in the King George will push connections towards the Ryanair, a place or even a win could give connections silly misconceptions of one last try at the Gold Cup which I don't want.

That gets said every year, yet it nearly always doesn’t work out that way. Some winners and placed horses in recent years include Royal Pagaille, Frodon, Saint Calvados, Tea for Two, & Double Shuffle. Some lovely horses but hardly the crème de la crème of 3 mile chasers.

A past winner of the King George who was touched just off in the most recent renewal won't appreciate the Ryanair trip? Not sure I agree with you to be honest.

That was my thinking. I think 16/1 for the KG is fair and if he ran into a place i don't see him being pushed out in the betting for the Ryanair if it's Fastorslow, Il Est Francais or Fact To File that beats him. If he did though after a good run i would be happy enough to have a top up. Iv'e already backed BMG for the Ryanair so it makes sense to have some of the E/W on the KG. I am already on Il Est Francais and Fastorslow for that race too so hopefully have the 1,2,3 already in the bag If Willie sends over FTF then i might get 2nd and 3rd

I think you’re confusing BMG with Shishkin regarding being unlucky. Granted he was slightly impeded but he was beaten regardless imo.

BMG was beaten by Bob Olinger but more importantly Galliard Du Mesnil over the 2m5f Ryanair trip around Cheltenham in the Ballymore. Bravemansgame has benefited for stepping up in trip over fences & hasn’t looked like he was crying out for a drop in trip since then. He’s simply been outperformed by better horses of late.

As Sean has said I think Shishkin was the unlucky one in the King George, he looked the winner had he not stumbled.

If there’s a horse that stepping back down would suit similar to Protektorat it has to be L’Homme Presse imo. He has far more going for him over that trip than Bravemansgame.

Excelled over the mid trip as a novice chaser before being stepped up at Cheltenham, has the course form, likes to be handy or lead and ping away and just didn’t quite see out the Gold Cup trip. He will be the same age as Bravemansgame and available at 20/1 for the Ryanair.

Shishkin was unlucky but BMG was unfortunate that Shishkin fell in front of him, Cobden nearly fell off the horse. and he was hugely impeded. He was definitely unlucky even if it doesn't suit your narrative

BMG has form figures over the middle distance of 11311 over both hurdles and fences including a Grade 1 Challow while L'Homme Presse has form figures over the middle distance of 6111121. Fairly similar figures there.. Dunno how you can say L'Homme Presse has "far more going for him than BMG" over the distance.

I also think L'Homme Presse would have a great chance in a Ryanair btw, not knocking him.

He was unlucky but don’t think you can use that to suit your narrative either as in both scenarios he wouldn’t and didn’t win.

Yes similar figures but L’homme presse has a lot more chase experience ant the distance and at the top level over the trip, that’s why he’s got more going for him imo.

Prob controversial but I think all Fabiolo more likely switcher for Willy to this ….as might help his jumping

Generally prefer Gold cup types who switch in this to QM ones, but 12s is not bad….specially in double with GW perhaps if u think Willie might split them

I'd quite like to see that.
