Has anything been said about Capodanno's target or route this season? He's ticking some AP trends for this race and at decent odds too

Flooring Porter might be interesting should he be aimed here. Could do a Allaho from the front.

I’ve enough on myself but 25/1 still available with B365, clear standout now…

Just added him for the Stayers myself. I don't think he jumps well enough to win a Ryanair and has form of 1142 in the 3m Hurdle. Just looks an obvious race for a horse that has to go left handed. Don't think he'll beat Teahupoo but the final bits of 25/1 are a solid ew price in an extremely weak year.

…Ile est Francais into a best price 14-1 for this after his win yesterday.

Worth noting PP/BFSB have left KG/Ry unaltered at 50-1.

                          ….cut to 33-1 now.

                          Edit; Now 22-1.

Have already backed Ile Est Francais for the Ryanair @ 33's.

His running style at Kempton led me to believe that would be the bet and he was one of my first bets in the race.

I'm not entirely convinced they'll choose the Ryanair over the Gold Cup should he win the King George well enough though (which I also need for some roll ups).

At this point I'd much prefer him to piss up in the King George than worry about my Ryanair bet, to be honest.

                              Thats a cracking bet COD

FWIW I don't think you have anything to worry about. As a strong traveller that likes to jump exuberantly from the front, I don't think an emphatic KG win would sway them towards a Gold Cup, not at all in fact. They're always talking about his 'incredible cruising speed' and we know there is a world apart from winging fences and front running over 3m at Kempton and staying 3m2f in the Gold Cup. I don't think the GC would suit him at all and they'll know that. The only horse I can remember in recent years making all to win a Gold Cup was Native River, but he was an out and out stayer with plenty of Cheltenham experience.

IEF has never been to Cheltenham which is the big unknown and for connections who have been patient with clear targets, I don't think they'd afterthought a Gold Cup, regardless of how impressive he is at Kempton. Winning from the front in a competitive Gold Cup is near on impossible IMO for a strong traveller and there isn't much in the breeding to give you confidence either.

Conversely, when looking at the Ryanair, we've seen lots of winners in recent years who go from the front and play catch me if you can tactics which would suit a horse like IEF down to the ground.

He's only 6 years old so there is no rush and they have time is on their side. His exuberance might fade with age so if I were connections, the KG would be my main target and Cheltenham would be a bonus. They wouldn't really have much to lose throwing him at a Ryanair and if he won well handling Cheltenham, then they would be in a position to target his first GC at 8 years old, and they could train him accordingly with that plan in mind (ie. try and teach him to settle better, not front run, hold him up etc)

Great price though. Have I just talked myself into taking 14/1 about him for the Ryanair? I think I have

                                33/1 is a cracking bet

                                14/1, rather leave

just don’t see the Ryanair being the target unless the horse is beaten in the KG. Wins the KG, do we really think they’ll drop him into the Ryanair? Or save him for a big race in France?

33/1 has more than enough fat on that to take a hit if he’s a n/r, and gives you an oppportunity to trade it in for a NRNB ticket when that market open

he’s the ‘talk’ horse right now and his price reflects that
