Have we had an update on his wellbeing? The last I read last year was on 8th February as follows. My worry is the potential fracture and the use of the word "hopefully" in respect of his return to racing this season. I might have missed or forgotten a more recent update.

Chris Richardson, racing manager to Cheveley Park Stud, said: "It's so disappointing because he'd run so impressively last time and we were really looking forward to what he might be able to offer.

"I was on my way over to Ireland on Sunday when I received the call. I understand he must have become cast in his box in the night and wasn't sound when he was trotted up before racing on Sunday.

"There's a suspicion of a hairline pelvic fracture, but investigations are ongoing. Sadly it means he'll require time off and is out for the remainder of the campaign, but hopefully he'll be back next season."

The new Novices handicap is an open one so horses rated over 145 wouldn't be pushed into other races. So what we really want now is novices being kept out of the other handicap chases and the new Turners could be a cracking high class race.

Ah right I thought it was capped at 145, thanks

I haven't heard anything, and I'll reiterate my belief that he's a fly in the ointment for the Gaelic Warrior conundrum rather than a tip as such, but I thought I saw 365 cut him to 14s yesterday and I had a superboost available so felt it was worth getting him on board at 28s. In reality, having checked I think he was just introduced to the market at 16s by 365 so maybe not my smartest play but I've got plenty of time to figure out laying/cashing/anything of that type over the next 6 months

I've heard rumours this may still happen. Hopefully things are announced soon.

Seems to be a difference of opinion on whether the new mid distance novice race will be capped at 145 or not. If it is then this is a great thought. Impaire Et Passe screaming at me if it is capped.

                    I'm convinced PT rides:
El Fabiolo CC, Gaelic Ryanair, Galopin Gold Cup

Realistically for me, the only way that changes (barring injuries) is if El Fabiolo bombs out - at which point it becomes a case of who is the better chance for PT:
Energumene, Grangeclare or Il Etait Temps.

I was just suggesting Grangeclare is most likely to change the equation of the least likely horses... If that makes sense?
The Final Furlong Podcast released today. Paul Ferguson is on again. He agrees with you Re- GCW for the Ryanair. Bugger off Paul, Whadda you know anyway

Ok, im sold. I am coming around to the angle. He moves up the list. I need to hear some news first though. He is definitely a forgotten horse. Could be the springer this year in the open division.

"The Turners Novices' Chase will lose its Grade 1 status and become an open novice handicap chase at next year's Cheltenham Festival as part of a revamped racing programme."

Just out of interest, are Hills NRNB already ?
It's either a fantastic initiative or the worst set of ante post prices ever created....
