Ya, I don't do any win today and at the festival bets, but if Il Etait Temps goes King George I might do that play of King George and Ryanair. Don't know why but i just love the horse, feel like he is an underdog story from Willies yard and they didn't fancy him, all the hype was Facile at the time.

I know King George is risky side but if he wins that, I'd have to have him as the fav for the Ryanair.

    • Yes he’s a tad up against it today with being top weight, but he is that for a reason , and would imo prefer a bit softer going, but I would love to have Protektorat at 66 for this, so a small wager for me on the WTAF
If he wins today and I hadn’t done it,I would be regretting big time, as I think at this moment hes the likeliest winner

        ….66-1 Hills.

50-1 to go unbeaten with PP.

        • Well the attempt to get 66 failed, but 16 now ain’t too shabby imo for Protektorat

          • …Ile est Francais pulled up in France, hopefully nothing amiss.

            • Il est Francais pulled up!

Didn’t appear to be an injury, he seems to struggle when not leading, horse came and took it up on the final circuit and almost looks like he empties.

              • Looked injured to me... hopefully just pulled him out to save him as running poorly. Was a stupid prep imo.

Aye I don’t think the way he races 3+ is what he wants.

3m or less is where he’s seen at his best imo.

Not really a prep - it's worth much more than the King George and one of their most prestigious races. Just not a horse who is going to appreciate those marathon trips IMO

Makes sense. Looked that way. Emptied quickly.

                        • George told Sky Sports Racing: “James just said he cut out and that’s why he pulled him up. There’s no certain reason for it – we’ll do every test we can possibly do and then we’ll make a decision on what the plan is. He’s not lame, so we’ll find a solution.”

Asked about the King George, he added: “Obviously, it’s not going to be 100 per cent that we’re going to be coming, we’ve just got to make a plan and we’re not going to jump to any conclusions at all.

“There’s no point making a decision now, we’ve got to work out what’s gone on and then make a decision on what we do.”

Nicolas de Lageneste is the co-owner of Il Est Francais and provided an update to France Galop.

“As for Il Est Français, his health problems caught up with him. He had a pulmonary haemorrhage. He is fragile at this level. We will do the necessary care. His jockey James Reveley really respected him and stopped him at the right time,” he said.

Sounds like retirement. Wonder if Martin Brassil is paying attention re - King George
