  • Race was never going to make a jot of difference to CH.
Just public schooling and 70 grand pocket money.

    • I need some help!!
So CH I presume ran today because he needed to run again before March.
The way he ran todaytells me he didn’t really have a run!!
So what happens now re training?
Seems to me they are not much more forward now as they were yesterday!! Why not let him stride on more and actually have a run??
Be grateful if anyone can explain, as I’m certainly not qualified to give any sort of expert opinion, and obviously in no position to say I know more then Nicky Henderson!!

Nico said they'll have to make him do some work next week, half in jest.

        • Con hills had the best type of prep run, hes basicallly had a tempo run.

I think Anzadam might get beat today. I was seriously impressed by Laafi on his hurdling debut on Boxing Day and he was a decent flat horse (3 wins on soft/heavy for Haggas and a peak rating of 98). He will need to take a big step forward but I think that is entirely possible as he won very snugly at Limerick. 50/1 still available on Laafi for the Supreme by the way.

Was very good on debut but a big step up today.

Wouldn't be too concerned about his flat rating, so many horses come off the flat, plenty with higher ratings than Laafi, and get put away by NH bred horses.

They can look good early on then get found out. It might just be a step too far for Laafi, today.

It's just a shame about that blunder at the last. Carrying that into the festival isn't great for horse, connections or punters. Nicos fault. Shouldn't have eased up on him so much. Constitution Hill probably thought he'd done enough.

Potentially not a lot of risk with the 50/1 either

If he gets beaten they shouldn't really push him out much and if he wins or is at least close he's got a relatively strong looking piece of form in the book, given the love for the favourite and what I consider far too short, price in a Champion Hurdle

                  • Anzadam solid enough.

Done what Constitution Hill done yesterday without the final hurdle drama.

                    Was a nothing match, really.

                      • Good from Anzadam, jumping was really good, and was needing a bit of pulling up after the line.

                        • Not a surprise but being cut after that is a bit silly
Most have gone 10s to 8s

The 16/1 TWAF when he was 1/9 and 10/1 ante post was a bit silly from WH though on the flip side

                          • He's a great substitute/back up for State Man isn't he. Think Kev might change his mind about him now.....

                            • Be interested if they have a market for which of Willies to be best placed and how they price him.

He's better than State Man. I don't have any doubt about that.
