  • State Man has never been out the top 2, when finishing, so getting beaten by Winter Fog places a serious doubt to his wellbeing today which means it's hard to gauge how great that performance by Brighterdaysahead was today imo. There has to be something amiss with the Mullins stable as Argento Boys run was also too bad to be true earlier.

    • They're going chasing with her next season regardless of what happens this season. Eddie just said on rte. They should just give the champion hurdle a go. She's just proved she belongs in that race.

      • Just proves everything what is wrong with racing at the moment, smashing up the second highest rated hurdler by 30 lengths and still going to the second rate race

She would have beaten State Man today, even if he was at his best
She clocked a silly time today. I've always seen State Man as having tactical speed, they went at some gallop today and I'm sure someone will do the sectionals and it will back up the her visual performance

That was impress. What a week of racing! Con Hill, Sir Gino, GDC, BDA, a good king george. Proper week of racing
I'm sure Mullins will come back with a boot full of trophies from the DRF, once he get more work into his and the ground comes up soft. He'll be back

But for now, what a week

Obviously not at his best, but like Lossiemouth, he's never been asked to go that quick early on. Check all of his grade 1 wins and the 2 Champion Hurdles and they are mainly average pace at best.

He's been caught out when asked to actually race for the full 2m and not handed the race to him by racing 3 other Mullins horses.

I'd have to check back all of state mans performances at Leopardstown, but has he ran at that pace before with no let up? It seems he's disappointed in a champion hurdle finding little off a strong enough pace and again today. Maybe he's just bring exposed in truly run races.

                    Yes a real possibility imo
We don’t have many run at that sort of pace and no surprise that it catches horses out.
Imo only Con Hill could cope with that today and he would have to be pretty near his best to do that.
Could be some clash if they both make the gig in good form.

                    • Wow !! Enjoyed that...not least as had backed her well

Agree with the comments re only CH could cope with that sort of pace

However, worth noting on RPRs with allowance her LAST run was well ahead of CH win....so this will be miles ahead and require the very best CH of old to beat

Interested what Willie does now? I'm not sure Lossie is as good as that, but would be his only real hope in race.

5-1 ish price seems very generous to me for anyone not yet on

                        • Gordon using the aidan obrein tactics

Paul was fast asleep. Race was over after 2 furlongs.

The form isn't worth the paper it's written on. It was a relay race not a horse race. All BDA had to do was beat king of kingsfield.

                          Genius tactics from Gordon though.

                            I think it's worth something.
